Mina is a stunner in every way. I'm so glad you picked up on her from our suggestions. She is a talent that will be back in a band again soon if I am any judge, she is way too skilled to just do social media. I only hope whatever it is leans in to the harder side of rock, as regular j-pop and j-rock is overwhelmingly full of bands all struggling for the spotlight.

@gt1man931 Mina is signed to Universal Japan, which may make it difficult for some attempting to post reactions to her original music, which was also the case with Girlfriend while they were still active, as they were signed to Avex, who have been known to block KZbin reactions to the band's work. Fortunately, that doesn't appear to be the case with Mina's former bandmates Sakika and Mirei in COX2 (COCO).✌️♥️🇦🇺

Her real name is Yamauchi Mina she's the younger sister of SILEN SIREN's Bassist Yamauchi Aina.

Part of me is still not over the end of Girlfriend, though we can rejoice in the fact that at least 3/4ths of the band have since bounced back from the split. Mina across social media, and Sakika and Mirei in COX2 (COCO). Both of Girlfriend's (full-length) albums "Chocolate" and "House" are highly recommended.✌️♥️🤘🇦🇺

I became a big fan of Girlfriend when I first saw the video of their cover of "Flash" by Perfume, whom I also enjoy a lot. Then I got into the rest of their work and was very impressed. Next thing I heard was that they broke up, which was a downer. I wondered what happened to the members of the band, and now Mina shows up on your channel. I always found her to be a very good bassist with great technical qualities. She also is a darn good singer. Now that I know what's going on I'll be following her. You are also doing a great job with your little vignettes on the various excellent musicians from Japan. My top picks are Misa and Juna Serita. I am a big jazz fan and she is just a dream to watch and listen to. Whether if it's when she was with TGJ, The Jazz Avengers, or just her practice videos, she is just amazing and has a soulful effect when watching her play. And now that she's learned the sax it's even better. Keep up the good work.

I sure hope you will be doing a segment on Tomomi from SCANDAL, as I feel she gets short shrift when bassists are mentioned. Her talent is undeniable and her power squeak vocals are so distinctive. She's one of the real veterans of J-Rock.

Another quick question. Since you are doing bassists right now, I'm curious what you have heard about Nohana Kitajima, formerly of Stereopony. I became a fan of them almost 10 years after they broke up and i enjoyed their music. Aimi was an excellent vocalist and Shiho Yamanoha was quite a good drummer.

Mina is Duch a talented bassist... she's in the same league as virtuoso bassists like Juna Serita, Misaki Fujiwara, or F. Chopper Koga, and she's also a very young and cute girl. I'm glad Mina's social media projects are successful, but GIRLFRIEND was such a great band that I hope they get back together, including Nagisa if possible. ❤
