How This Gaming PC Company Destroyed Itself in One Night

Artesian Builds decided that they didn't want to give away a PC during a giveaway because the randomly selected winner didn't have enough followers.
That is how this whole thing started. What I didn't know is that it would resolve itself in me hearing from so many brave people about how the company wasn't actually the bad guy, but the CEO himself was manipulating so many people and factors to the point where people felt like they had to talk about it.
This was one of the ugliest and saddest scams I've seen on the internet in when it comes to Gaming PC's and it made me unbelievably sad.

It's so sad they fell off so quickly the second they started sponsoring big names with big logos and probably big sales. I think that a streamer with a workshop, an awesome cam setup for close ups, on-the-fly tutorials and really cool tools for engravings and such, is a fantastic untapped market. There's a reason "how it's made" videos are popular forever.

"Fairly certain that is illegal" Yep. Sweepstakes must have the following conditions: 1) randomized outcome 2) free public access Every legit Sweepstakes you will see a small, free entryway to the Sweepstakes (usually mailing a letter to the company). Without this regulation it's illegal for either being an illegal lottery or false advertisement.

I'm a now former Mod and Ambassador of Artesian builds, they removed my mod because I backed KiaPiaa and the 2 others poor streamers that got done dirty, I then terminated my contract. I'm actually embarrassed to say I own a PC from them. Then the 3 attempted apologizes from the CEO were laughable. Also the company's FTB has been Forfeited according to records discovered by another person on Twitter. I spent 20 months with the company as a Ambassador and was mod for over a year. I was one of the first 50 followers on their Twitch, nights where the CEO Noah was streaming with no viewers except me. I kept him company so he wasn't alone. I feel like I've wasted over a year of my life dealing with them. Sorry for the rant, just wanted to give my input from someone who's watched them grown from nothing to something.

its not the company that's the problem, its the person. If people are getting bad pcs, its either because the builders are stressed or Noah is cheaping out on products (like thermal paste) that are essential to the pc. artesian builds can be a good company with great people (there already are great people), but that is all being ruined because of Noah Katz, the monopolistic, selfish, souless content creator.

11:00 - If she never signed a agreement giving Artesian Builds ownership of the artwork she made, she still owns the exclusive rights to her artwork. I would suggest she seek legal advice since Artesian Builds is selling her artwork without her (current) permission.

Actually she might not. I worked for a design firm and the template I had to open every time I started a new project that in the footnote said any artwork created was the property of said design firm. Do a Google search, in your area, for non-profit organizations that take computer donations and then give them away to low-income families. I know of a place in Chicago that does this. They’ll accept one computer from someone, a truckload of computers from a company that’s upgrading their computers, or accept computers from companies that lease them out. They open the computers up, give them a good cleaning, replace or upgrade components as needed, wipe the drives, and then load Linux onto them. They use Linux, because sending them out with Windows would cost a fortune. They need people who know their way around the inside and outside of a computer. You don’t need to be a computer science major, either. A lot of what you need to know, can be taught to you. You should have a basic understanding, though. Linux experience is a big plus. It’s a volunteer (unpaid) opportunity, but you’ll learn a lot while doing it, and you’ll feel good for helping people out. Hope this helps! 😃
@EcnalKcin
@EcnalKcin 2 жыл бұрын
@@Willam_J Why would they load Linux on them? Linux still has a lot of compatibility issues, and they likely already have Windows installed, unless they are a new build..Do they not know how to do a factory reset to wipe the drives of everything but the OS? That said, depending on where you live, it is easy to contribute PC's to people. Just buy up cheap used PC's using facebook and craigslist, clean them up, and hand them out to those that need them. A bit hard to do if you live in the country, but pretty easy in any major city.

Noah's ego when putting himself on the same pedestal as Linus, regarding PC tech and fame, is just pure comedy gold and denial. How the heck is Linus' LMG not a pc company, he started with pc tech and has been doing this since 2007. I was watching them one night on Noah's stream. They were doing a build for MVG Charity for an active duty soldier. Noah had stepped away for a few minutes (might have been getting food, don't remember). Someone in chat asked if this was the build for the veteran. The person in chat was told it was. The person then asked if they could use up all their bit points (this guy had hundreds of thousands of points) and upgrade the CPU. Alan (I think that was Noah's builder) said that he could. Now, if you look at the way someone can use their bits, one of the options was spending 590,000 bits to upgrade the CPU. So, the person spent all their bits (it was way more than 590,000). Noah finally came back in and saw this and his first response was no, you can't spend bits. I think at this point there was a very short discussion between Noah and Alan. Then Noah came back and said, but because it is a build for a veteran, he would allow it. Noah also made some comment about how this person got so many bit points.

ive been building PC's for a long time, professionally and personally. i can assure anyone considering or interested in buying a PC, you can build it yourself, cheaper, and better than what prebuilt companies charge. i dont care which brand, or company it is, theyre all charging you well beyond cost, and youre getting some less than good components, namely PSU's, Motherboards, and 'lesser' parts. modern PC components are keyed, they fit together like legos its near impossible to do wrong. there is no aspect of PC building you cant do yourself, unless you have a disability like not having use of your hands. it takes 30 minutes starting with an empty case, and in the long run, youre better off doing it yourself since you will have the knowledge to repair and replace down the road & help others. dont sell yourself short, and if you have any doubt you can easily watch a youtube video and get passed it. Then you can pass on your knowledge to friends and family.

Contest & Sweepstakes Laws in the U.S. Prize promotions in the U.S. are broken down into two categories: contests and sweepstakes. Sweepstakes are luck-based promotions where winners are chosen at random, while contests are skill-based promotions where winners are chosen on merit. The main laws you need to be aware of when you run a contest or sweepstakes in any U.S. state are no purchase necessary laws. These laws state that you cannot require users to make a purchase or provide other forms of consideration to enter a sweepstakes where winners are randomly drawn. However, you can generally incentivize purchases as part of a contest where winners are chosen on merit (some states still prohibit this though). Other important U.S. laws and regulations require you to: Provide free alternate means of entry if you allow users to enter sweepstakes with a purchase. Announce the opening and closing dates for entries. Disclose when and how winners will be selected. Announce when prizes will be awarded. Contact all winning entrants. Follow through with all prizes. Anytime you run a contest or sweepstakes in any U.S. state you need to follow these laws. Its literally in the main paragraph YOU CANNOT REQUIRE USERS TO MAKE A PURCHASE OR PROVIDE OTHER FORMS OF CONSIDERATION, where winners are randomly drawn.
