The biggest underdog story in NBA history isn’t well known but a star from the ‘90’s used to work at a grocery store. He barely made the NBA but once he got there he became a legend.

Glad to see someone highlighting the positives of Starks’ career. People shouldn’t be just defined by one or two bad moments.

@@olivergreenway2307 There’s a hell of a difference in “bad” when in respect to those things. Plus, it’s not as if he just had sex with her and had the kid, and then was an actual father. He intentionally missed out on that kid’s life. So it’s a lot more than a couple bad moments

Amazingly, Starks gets hate for that Game 7 performance when Patrick was MIA for the entire series. I don't care that he was playing against Hakeem, he's an all-time great too, and should've played better. Expecting an undrafted, inefficient, fringe All-Star to carry a team to a championship was insane.

Man, as a Knicks fan of 30yrs, I was never a Starks fan. I respected his toughness and gritty play. But he was a bonehead. I don’t care what anyone says. Sure, he overcame some shit. You get my respect for that. But if you can’t hit shots, don’t take them and sure as shit don’t take 10 of them in the 4th quarter of a Game 7 Finals. I respect the man but I am not a fan of the player. Starks was very frustrating to watch back then. But I also have to be mad at the FO. Ewing dragged the carcass of a squad that had no business being in the Finals to one win from a ring. Anthony Mason is my favorite Knick and Oakley was a dog. Harper was a good pickup but I’m sorry, it should never have been enough to get as far as we did. That makes me love those teams but I’m realistic.
