How This Small Town Trader Clocks 25% Yearly Profit in Swing Trading | Big Bull Ep-55

So far we’ve seen many traders on our Big Bull series, but this trader’s story stands out as the journey of finding one’s niche in the stock market.
Meet Ansul Kumar Agrawal, a swing trader who learned about the stock market from his uncle who happened to be a sub-broker.
Influenced by his uncle, Ansul started intraday trading in the market and started learning from KZbin and other platforms.
However, even after giving a full year to intraday trading, Ansul still couldn’t turn profitable in the market and was about to give up when the pandemic came along and shook his business to the core.
Due to hampering his business, Ansul decided to give trading another shot with options trading. But this also turned out to be an erroneous decision as trading in options again led to a significant loss of 30-40% of his capital.
At this point, Ansul finally realised that if he wanted to earn consistent profits in the stock market, the only way to achieve it is to learn through learning and gaining a deep understanding of the market.
So, thus began Ansul’s journey of unwavering learning in the stock market where he started learning with courses and read plenty of books.
Ansul now recommends the voracious reading of books such as How to make money in Stocks by William O'Neil and other authors such as Mark Minervinni, and Stan Weinstein.
Ansul talks about how Stan suggests buying stocks which are in their “stage 2” which is characterised by certain attributes in these stocks.
Ansul also recommends understanding the Indian market by keeping books beside the charts and simultaneously observing how the author’s suggestions play in the real and live market.
The trader talks about how he keeps 70-80% of his capital in small-cap stocks with a risk-reward ratio that allows him to book profits while minimising potential losses.
Ansul also reminisces about how he used to see his father trading in the stock market and how seeing him incur losses during 2007-08 made him understand the market’s realities early on.
In the end, the trader talks about the realistic amount of time that one can expect to spend to fully learn the stock market and how understanding the market on your own gives you a lot more confidence than learning it from someone else.

25% is still better than nothing at all. Rather than complaining, people should lower their expectations. At least for me, lowering the expectations really helped. I target 5% monthly. Sometimes I make more than that, sometimes lower than that. But it helped me realize that monthly 2 good trades are enough to make upwards of 5%.

Nice podcast❤ I've spent 2.5 years till date but never tried F&O or Intraday (intraday- unknowingly once). Still trying to learn and manage my portfolio of stocks as my entry into stock market was during post covid-hike of 2021 and after that market witnessed Russia-Ukraine, US Rate-Hikes, Hinderberg (Adani), Israel-Hamas etc due to which growth was hampered in the stocks bought during post-covid hike, but learning was getting intact. Once portfolio was down by more than 8% (if I'm correct) and then it rose to 12% plus and again down to approx 3% plus but now it's 14% plus and today's move is +1.16%. I've thought to build my portfolio for long term (at least 7-8 years) and this process may take 1.5 more years. Let's hope for the best.🎉 Hope to see you soon.❤

From that time I saw the market falling but I kept continuing 5000 every month for my portfolio One time my portfolio goes 35%(Rs 16000) loss but I still keep investing. I forgot my 5000 and now I see not all but some market cycles. Now the result of my patience is reflected in my portfolio Up by 38%(55000) till date. I do nothing, i selected a good share and stick to it . I removed 2 stocks not performing and fell more than 50% .

N don't add or withdraw any fund in between........ Do ur swing trades, with ur monthly targets of 25% n continue till u complete ur 1 year of trading...... Then check ur fund balance in your account , whatever u will see there, u can divide the same by your Initial capital (Rs 1 lakh in this example) ... N then multiply by 100.....that will b your ℅age returns for that first year...... Ok...hope u understand

Why try so hard for 25%. Most Small cap mutual funds have been giving over 40% CAGR for last 4 years. You are actually working harder to earn less. This doesn't makes sense. You should go for direct investing only once you have a real edge and can actually outperform any mutual fund/ index by atleast 10% CAGR every year.
