You know what your animation has that most don't? PEOPLE. There were an awful lot of PEOPLE on that ship. Thanks for including them. Not just because it was a tragic loss of life, and, of course, it was, but because no matter how gorgeous the recreation is, no matter how accurate your models, most games, simulations, or animations feel....empty. James Cameron could have just built a large model and shown it off just to sink it in 1997, but he introduced us to people. Can't wait to see what else you can do. ( I edited for spelling.)

I reckon this animation of the sinking is probs more accurate than James Cameron’s 1997 film; there’s no way the ship’s stern could rise that high as it did in the film without snapping.

At the time, that is how they thought the Titanic had sank, so that is how they filmed it. It was later determined that it could not reach the angle portrayed in the movie. I am sure that if 20th Century Fox (Disney) were to hand James >$1 Billion and 2 years of his time he might laugh at your face and then actually be willing to redo the whole back end of the film. James would call it the special and unnecessary edition but he might do it.

I've read eye witness accounts of how the ship sank which is never totally accounted for in any animations; after the break-up, the stern was virtually vertical, and stood motionlessly for actually a few minutes as if held there by a giant force. One surviving witness described how it looked like, "A giant finger pointing to the sky", against the dark starlit night. After what seemed like an eternity in this position, it slowly descended beneath the surface. I cannot help but be reminded of the then quote of how, "Not even God can sink the Titanic", and what one Titanic passenger said of how this was, "Flying in the face of God".

My great aunt, Maria Von Oist, survived the Titanic sinking. To her dying day, she curse the people on the boats, calling them cowards, who sat in the boats, ignoring the cries of those in the water. She pleaded with them to row over and save others, but they refused, preferring to let them die a cold death. In this poignant and heart-wrenching animation, emotions swirl and tug at the strings of your heart. The sinking Titanic comes to life in a way that touches the deepest recesses of your soul, evoking a profound sense of sadness and empathy for the passengers and crew who faced an unimaginable tragedy. With every stroke of animation, you can feel the weight of the historical event, and the visual storytelling transports you back to that ill-fated night. The haunting music and carefully crafted scenes infuse the video with a sense of melancholy, leaving you with an overwhelming sense of loss and reflection. As the ship majestically glides across the screen, you can't help but become immersed in the lives of those onboard, making it all the more heartbreaking when disaster strikes. The animation captures the human side of this catastrophe, making it more than just a historical event-it becomes a deeply personal and emotional experience. Yet, even in its sorrow, the video serves as a reminder of the resilience of the human spirit. It urges us to cherish the present, appreciate the moments we have, and empathize with the struggles of others. The tragic tale of the Titanic becomes a metaphor for the fragility of life and the importance of valuing every precious moment. Prepare yourself for an emotional journey unlike any other. This touching animation will leave you with a heavy haeart, but it also stirs within you a sense of gratitude for life's blessings and a renewed appreciation for the ties that bind us all as fellow human beings. A true testament to the power of art to evoke deep emotions and stir our collective humanity. 🎥💔🌟(I am Sri Lankan)

This version is definitely without a doubt much more accurate and closer to the real disaster than James Cameron's film but when you compare it to several survivor's testimonies and how they witness the whole thing, there would be some things missing like... 1. The ship actually listed to port, it tilted to the left side of the ship a little bit when the bow was flooding. 2. The ship actually already broke in half much earlier when the bridge was flooding, and many survivors said that they heard a violent explosion in middle part of the ship just in front of the third funnel, and despite the ship broke in two the lights were supprisingly still on and wroking. 3. After the explosion they saw black smokes coming out from the 2nd and 3rd funnels at the same time and lumps of coal were raining down from it. 4. After that many survivors were surprised and swore that they saw the bow of the ship rose up a litte bit as a result making an illusion that the ship looks like it's connected in one piece again as if nothing happened... 5. Then it continue to sink again while it was shaking a bit and finally submerging the bow underwater once again, of course fast forward we know what happens next the first funnel falls off when the waters reached it and then moments later followed by the 2nd funnel it exploded a bit as volume of sparks can be seen from it as it fell. 6. As the stern was rising again but much higher this time and once again survivors recalled they heard another big explosion from the ship and that's when the stern fell off crushing the people below it as a result... and now the stern was even more listing the port now it was almost impossible to walk around without holding on to anything. 7. The stern was suprisingly staying afloat for a very long time and the lights were still on (they could be mistaken about the lights what they saw were probably the emergency lights) which mislead people into beliving that it will stay afloat and won't sink again but unfortunetly a few moments later the Stern turned around and was sinking rapidly it almost went vertical but not quite. Yeah... the real life sinking was alot more confusing and complicated so many things were all happening at once, I guess it's better to keep things simple.

That's a really good animation. I like the engineer Roy Mengot's theory which has B deck break a bit later than shown - "The keel fails first, and the draft and lower hull is crushed and breaks apart. The only thing holding the ship together now is B deck. Water surged into the bow and stern of the ship through the huge cracks, causing the bow section to sink beneath the waves. B deck breaks and the superstructure beneath the 3rd funnel crumbles."

To be honest James Cameron also took inspiration from one of Ken Marshall's most famous illustrations. Marshall is one of the most well renowned Titanic illustrators of the time, he worked closely with Rob Ballard as well. Marshall's depiction is exactly what we see in James Cameron's film because that was what was believed to have been how Titanic sank in the time the film was made.

I think overall it was a very good animation and recreation of the sinking of the ship, however there are some details that are inaccurate. 1. Probably the biggest for me is the fact that the ship broke just a tad early. From what I’ve seen, the ship did not break until water was near the base of the 3rd funnel. 2. The scene with the man under the water is very cinematic, however the lights in the bow section would have been off because the water had short circuited them. 3. Final critique I have is the lack of a list. The ship had a list to port until the final plunge began, after the plunge started the ship had corrected itself and sank with no list Despite my criticism, I still think this animation is very good and enjoyable to watch! I just wanted to give some constructive criticism in case you guys decide to remake this anytime soon

This is already way better than most sinking animations I've seen 1. There are actual people, and that actually walk instead of gliding around 2. Water physics, instead of the water being a flat plain that phases through the ship 3. The model itself physically breaks apart, instead of looking like it was built with the idea of snapping by the shipbuilders 4. There is more outside detail, especially on the stern, that nobody else has done so far - There all a few inaccuracies, but it's all minor stuff that doesn't really get in the way; I'd love to see more!

By far 1 of the best animated renders of the Titanic out there. The attention to detail is just mind boggling. You really put the heart & soul of the ship in there by the forms of the passengers & crew going about their daily lives, as well as the horror of trying to escape when the ship was sinking. I really loved the underwater shots of the interiors showing the crew hard at work. The only fault i found with this is that the mast on the wreck was on the wrong side.

I like that you have the Blue Ensign flying at the stern; merchant ships always used the Red Ensign, but a rare exception could be made if the ships' Captain and at least 10 officers had served in the Royal Navy. Captain Smith had served in the R.N., so he had the rare distinction of being permitted to fly the Blue Ensign on a merchant (non-warship) he commanded.

@@kevin6293 bruh it was standard procedure at the time to continue steaming full steam in an ice field and only slow down if an iceberg was spotted. An no he did actually change course and they didn't expect the icebergs to be that prevalent in April. Titanic sank because of the calm sea and lack of moonlight not because of arrogance or stupidity. It was a terrible accident and that's all it was, an accident. And regarding lifeboats even if she had enough it would not have mattered. By the time they launched the last main lifeboats water was feet away from the boat deck and the remaining collapsible wernt even able to be launched so even if they had enough lifeboats they wouldn't have had the time to launch them.

I just wanted to mention, that it wasn't a sole, giagantic iceberg, in the water, though I assumed you just did this for clarity, and simplicity, but it was an "icefield", of hundreds of icebergs, as far as the eyes could see, and looked like white lumps everywhere, in every direction. There were several huge ones, and we will probably never know why, the "Captain" went full speed ahead through that, while all the other ships in the vicinity, were either stopped, or going VERY slow and cautiously. And I guess we will never know also, why, The "SS California" Captain, with his ship no more than 17 miles away, and visible to the people on the Titanic, AND vice versa, just more or less, just sat there, and ignored the Signal Flares showing a ship in danger, and the screams, YES, the screams, as you know, sound can carry for miles across still water, and the ocean was as still as glass, according to witnesses. But the BRAVE AND AMAZING Ship Carpathia, with her amazing Captain and crew, HEROES, nearly 39 miles away, stormed over there, to save them!
