Thanks for the lesson. It reminds me of a short ADV Course I did a few weeks ago. The instructor was on a GS too making skid turns look easy. When the bike weighs 200kg+, the momentum and inertia helps doing this manoeuvre but when the bike is smaller and lighter, I think it's much harder as you need better timing, balance and control.

@What about legs and weighting pegs. This is a maneuver you can't do with alot of weight on the bars. Learn to ride w/ legs and input knee into side and weight pegs etc. I can tell this guy rode Motocross b4...
@ciocanul2 жыл бұрын
You can do it either sitting or standing, there is little difference. The transition from brake to power slide feels more violent when you are sitting, kind like a high side. From my experience, you want to have your body weight as forward as possible, so that the back wheel looses traction more easily.

I think there's a higher risk of high-siding on asphalt if you don't throw enough power at it when you release the brake or if you release it too soon.

yeah, but he was not talking about racing, did he, so that kinda defies the purpose, ie this video has no real purpose....u-turns on big bikes are problematic on tight/technical sections, not the place he did it here, with lots of space and no bigger rocks etc. and bike acrobatics are not for everyone. so i just see showoff.
@Angry-Lynx4 жыл бұрын
@@ivok9846 no, it's not problematic and its definitely not for show, its VERY useful technique, I used it more often than I don't on rides
@ivok98464 жыл бұрын
@@Angry-Lynx photos.app.goo.gl/La5M7tHNEr9ptSWZA on such terrain too? what's the weight of your bike? with big bikes, you need u-turn the most when you have almost no space left, and in those cases this technique can't apply. just like most others can't. you must be talking about wide space where u-turn doesn't even matter, unless you're racing. i honestly don't see the purpose of this video, if you have that much space, you can do u-turn in much less dangerous ways on adv. bikes. i think his u-turn diameter was 6-7m there...sheeeeeesh.....talking about going to desert to practice u-turn, what could be more useful on adv. bike?!?
