Your daughter is so cute, she looks like an angel. I tried to replace my front shocks on my E90 LCI and that front spring was slipping on me the entire time ... couldn't compress it enough to put it back on the new shock and to tighten that top nut. I lost like 6 hours fighting it. In the end, I took the subway home, dirty as I was. As you said, it's soo disappointing when things don't go as planned, when they don't go smooth.

thanks for the Vid. I have to do my rear shocks on my 06 330xi in the next week or so. Mine are shot as well. Just one tip. There is a specific torque that those nuts should be tightened to. I think you can get that info from the Bilstein's website. Cheers from Canada!!

Benefit of lug bolts is that they're slightly cheaper than a stud and lug nut. Technically they're also slightly less likely to sheer off but considering we have 5 of them on each wheel that's not why they do it...I like to run a lug nut conversion kit because it makes things quicker if I have to swap tires on a track day.

Next time just jack it up from the rear diff so you can get both sides up eventually at the same time....much safer

You need to use the BMW jack hole puck so you don't bugger the jack point plastic piece up.

While I agree fully, Unfortunately, buying a used BMW, those jack points are already screwed up, so no sense in spending money on one now 🤪

Just use a normal hockey puck x3 you can cut them into that shape they work mintt

@15:52: you're not tightening it, because the strut is spinning! You have to lock the housing with a wrench.

Lol glad you noticed that. If you keep watching to 16:07 you’ll notice that I did pull a wrench out from above the control arm area. I did end up putting a wrench in there to lock the housing but failed to mention or show me putting it in there. Ya caught me! 😂

What do I do when the shock spins with the bolt ? On the bottom bolt of the shock

Have to use an opened ended wrench near the bottom to hold the shock from spinning while loosening the nut on the bottoms.

Would it create problem if I continue driving with leaking shocks (rear)? My left shock is leaking. It is not bouncing. Who knows, maybe I can continue driving with leaking shock for next 3 years.
