First oil/filter change on my new KTM. Followed the directions like a newb and documented it. The bike still runs so I must have done it properly. lol. Like, comment and subscribe. Follow me on Instagram @LukeHayden_

Great video, I would just have added: Size of wrenches and total oil needed for the oil change for those who may be missing the owners manual. Thanks for sharing, saving this video.

Best thing to clean screen is air sensor cleaner. Gentle on plastics but same cleaning properties as brake cleaner.

Seems like it be easier to do the big bottom plug first

How many hours did this bike have... Not good lookin oil

You don't have to put the bike on its side. When they say fill your oil filter they're talking about putting oil in oil filter, so that it's primed when started. This is done on cars also.

My husqy manual says to tip bike over. Ktm says fill oil filter. Its weird since they're both the same motors

Windex followed with water? Isopropyl alcohol or MAF cleaner if your fancy. Windex is ammonia solution and is definitely not good for gaskets or plastics. Spray with alcohol then blow off excess grime and dirt with compressed air, repeat till clean.

What is the maintenance schedule for that bike? Oil changes, valve checks, etc. Also, what is the difference between the six days and the regular bike?
@emburgess71867 жыл бұрын
Derick Well it really depends on how you ride it. Just putting around town or running it hard in the dirt. The book has a maintenance schedule set up so if you follow it you check the entire condition or change oil every 15, 30, 45, 135 hours or after ever race an annually. The manual is detailed enough to do most work yourself with the help of Utube to save a ton of money. Take it to a dealership an you will get work done but pay $85 to $105 just in labor so it pays to learn how to do simple things like oil changes an air filter cleaning yourself. I have this bike an love it but it is roughly $4,000 more than say a Kawasaki, Honda, or Yamaha. Choose wisely.

That is all true. But what about warranty? You loose it, when doing maintenance work on your own. Is it worth loosing it? I ride 350 EXC-F 2017 and I was also considering to do all maintenance on my own. I'm not sure if loosnig warranty is a good idea....

Yeah I'm not sure how long the bike is warranteened for but I have done my own oil changes an put on performance parts that gave me more horse power. I may have voided my warranty but Im learning to maintenance my bike myself which is rewarding in itself. If you want to pay someone else to do the work an can afford it, go for it.

dirt bike has like 30 days warranty, at least in Europe :)
