You also can’t manufacture machine guns with out the proper clearance from atf. You can however manufacture a sbr if you apply and receive the proper clearance from the atf. Again you gotta follow the applicable laws

Hey friend thanks for the information. I have had an ender 3 (pro) for a while, and i have a big tip for a couple upgrades for you. Order a “BTT skr mini e3 v2” and a “BTT TFT35 e3 v3” The skr mini e3 v2 is a different motherboard for the printer. It has silent stepper motors and more ports for plugging in other upgrades. All you need to do to install it is move the plugs from one board to the other. Almost every plug is in the same exact spot. Was a pretty easy install. Makes the printer nearly silent. The TFT35 e3 v3 is an upgrade screen that has touch capabilities and other added features. This is more of a quality of life upgrade than anything. I can help you with any of it if you need it. There is a lot of information about it out there though I also built my own filament runout sensor. I can show you how i made it if you like. I ordered all the stuff to make it on amazon but if you don’t have a connection crimper, soldering iron, etc, i am more than willing to just ship you one as i have extra parts. I’d say for free but it’s moreso as a small payment to you for your content :)

A tip to everyone who tries 3D printing such things like gun parts etc.. I would rather advise against PLA and PLA +, of course it works in a pinch, but there are far more stable and temperature-resistant filaments available which is used in mechanical engineering and can also be used with normal 3D printers. Use the normal PLA for practice and then use something like: "Nylon CF15 Carbon" - High strength - High thermal resistance - High chemical resistance - Impact resistant

Sure, there are filaments that work better, but they require expensive upgrades to your printer. It’s really not necessary for 99% of people to do so when PLA+ printed frames and receivers work for thousands of rounds without issue.

I think for a something safer result some more $ on material are worth the investment. Oh and you only have to update the heating nozzle of your printer and that is by far not particularly expensive.

I think that most users expect something that is easy to print, looks good, is safe, and lasts for thousands of rounds. PLA+ accomplishes that for the vast majority of builders. If you want something that looks factory and can last a lifetime, sure, they may want to upgrade and print in exotics and they can definitely do that. But it’s just not needed/wanted from the majority of people in the gun printing community.

I get great results with my Ender-3 v2 and ABS. I use a simple box of 1/2 insulation foam board.... has a vent in the top and I also added a small pieces infront to seal off the front of the base so the cpu and ps can suck cold air in from the front

I've never had issues removing supports and I feel very lucky about that, lol. The vz61 receiver has a TON of fat overhangs, so it had a lot of support to remove, but honestly wasn't too bad. Just clip and pop it off wherever it sits and use a sanding stick on any leftover blobs. Easy peasy!

you know, i stumbled upon your channel only recently when i saw your 10/22 3d printed build, i basically just bought a 3d printer (ender 3 btw XD) because i was planning on using it for some airsoft project i had in my head, sadly i can't 3d print guns in my country (italy), i really found this video interesting since i have tons of ideas of stuff i want to build for airsoft, and 3d printing is great because if something breaks i can well, just print a replacement, i really hope to see more airsoft content from you in the future and see what you'll come up with, and maybe also give it a try if you feel like sharing the files, let's all hope this year will be better for everyone

Love the 10/22 "Flintlock" design. I am curious since the upper is 3D printed how much have you shot it? What is your estimate for how long it might hold up? I know a 22LR isn't overly powerful, but the heat and repeated forces have got to take their toll. Still would love to build one of these just because I could. Haven't bought a 3D printer but very interested in one as a hobby, and I like shooting as well, so sounds like a match made in heaven. I also live in a free state so only would need to make sure I wasn't violating any fedeal laws. At the same time I'd love to make one that I could actually use and not be constantly worrying that it would break.

All factory take-off parts from Ebay. PLA+ is what I've done my most recent 10/22 receiver out of, and it's been a very solid performer.

Brilliant channel. I like love your work. I always have had a fascination with all types of home build guns since I seen the film the day of the jackel staring Edward fox years ago. 3D printing has taken things to a whole new level. Just wondering have you ever seen the film in the line of fire staring Clint Eastwood??? John malocovitch plays an assassin who molds components and when assembled is a take down two shot derringer pistol. I have never seen anyone build such a gun on utube. Would it be possible to 3D print such a gun?? Would it be legal to do so??. If is was legal. It would be awesome to see someone do this. Keep up the good work. I have seen it, and unfortunately, a metal-free gun would be illegal because of the Undetectable Firearms Act. There has to be a certain amount of metal (3.7 oz) in the firearm while in firing configuration for it to be legal. However, if you were to design something along those lines as a lookalike build but with rifled metal barrel liners and possibly some metal embedded in the grip, it could be done legally!

@@booliganshootingsports thank you very much for your reply.. i agree with you about it having to be constructed with a certain amount of steel parts because of the undetectable firearms act but also because i would question the safety of the pistol if a real world version was fired.in the film it seemed be of a 9mm or 380 calibre. The composite material would be unlikely to withstand the pressure without a steel rifled barrel.. there was a version of the same concept of gun used used in the 1995 film no way back staring Russell Crowe. A working steel built replica would be really cool to see.

CFL and LED lights produce a lot of interference - broad spectrum of noise. I would recommend using an energy saving halogen bulb (linear load) instead of those. It may help to prevent issues.

Your shop/garage is not code compliant. You should Sheetrock or put plywood over the framing to protect the romex. If it is a garage, you should have 5/8 type x Sheetrock as a firewall from your house. The electrical wires are supposed to be covered and protected.

So... I'm still not very familiar with 3D printing, so I gotta ask... it's there a type of glass filled polymer for 3D printing? That's the stuff they use for glock frames, and it works great there. And what about the stuff they use for polymer 80 frames? Those are different from the Glock material, but also very strong. What's the most similar to that, and can you 3D print with it? I know these questions have probably been asked before, but like I said, I'm new to this stuff. I'm a classically trained gunsmith. I work with metal, wood, and plastic with mills and lathes, etc. 3D printing is some next gen stuff, and IMO the future of the industry as a whole. I can imagine someday that someone figures out a way to 3D print with metal (not CNC, but actually printing) and boom! There goes the neighborhood. This stuff is amazing, and the level of creativity you guys exhibit is awe inspiring.
