Melee's effective drop shield time actually varies once you start wavedashing oos. Its closer to 13-14 for most of the cast to be actionable and thanks to platform shield dropping it's 0

As a G&W main, gotta say my out of shield options are broken. Up-B N-air If they jump, and are too far for nair, then F-air. Spot Dodge then Down Smash (if they don't jump)

Alex Connor yes I realize it’s a defensive option lol. It’s a bad defensive option tho since it has a good amount of end lag and can be easily punished by anyone with good speed or range. She can do anything better out of shield but up b is just not the right option. Another thing is that it’s got a decent amount of startup so if they continue any amount of pressure, you will most certainly get hit. This is just an overall bad option out of shield

It's a great out of shield option but technically not a kill confirm. A kill confirm is specifically something that leads into a move that kills. For example with Chrom jab > insta back air combo, jab is the kill confirm, back air is the kill move.

I really like the content and I'm glad to see smash getting some big time exposure, so I have some feedback for you guys!! -It would be awesome if you guys could have pro gameplay of actual examples rather than random CPU gameplay (you can tell by the grey shield) so that players could actually watch what's happening and understand it in real time situations! Also it can be a bit misleading cuz CPUs are terrible and newer players might not know that what the CPUs are doing in the video is really bad. -because you guys are firing off Soo many topics in one video I think it would be very beneficial to have some stuff written out on the screen to read as well because it can be a bit confusing to have someone fire off about a ton of topics that can be hard to understand individually. -the video was called how to abuse defensive play so I clicked on it expecting it to be about conditioning and how to beat shields and camping but you basically just explained the frame data and mechanics around shield, although I do understand that titles have to be engaging but I was confused waiting for you guys to get to the point about abusing defensive options. Thank you so much for doing this for the community though and I hope some of this helps you guys create more great content for people to learn competitive smash!!!!

NewbPhil Terry can spot dodge cancel into an up tilt which makes his whole body invulnerable at the start and then his upper body during the rest. I think this is actually called his “counter-attack” apparently from what I’ve heard

LanceHasPants terry’s is unique because he just needs to press A during a spot dodge to get a semi invincible up tilt. Everyone else gets a normal ground attack out of spot dodge using the usual input

Jump and throw out a retreating aerial. You could also spot dodge afterwards, cancel it into another attack. The worst thing u can do is try to punish an unpunishable attack and then you get punished for it. I main Mii Gunner (contrary to my profile pic) so I don't have a great OoS option. My grab is pretty decent though. But Idk about yours.

Stop using unsafe options on shiels then. Who actually complained of spamming "shield and grab". Maybe camping and running around, but not shield grabbing. Thats because shield grabbing doesnt cover all options. If ur opponent sees u being overly aggressive, it makes sense to shield. My advice to u is that if ur opponent starts playing "defensively", maybe try grabbing them instead of mindlessly dash attacking.

I know ZD and Larry Lurr (plays fox but I see more falco tbh) are pretty good, but they don’t show up in the same way.
