hey, being a fan of Ngrok myself, i came across the limitations of free tier and ended up creating www.loophole.cloud Loophole lets you have more than one tunnel running and no timeout at any given point along with an end to end encryption.

Ngrok sounds fantastic. That means no more paying web hosting. Though, only down side is that you still need a domain name if you gonna share your site to the world and keep your PC on. I recommend to just get a second hand PC/laptop and make that into a Ngrok server.

i've had a bad experience with ngrok. Ive opened a ngrok tunnel and got a ransomware. I guess this is not safe. I cant figure out how come they can intercept a tunnel or even the tunnel access.

You are after all opening up a port to your computer to the internet. If on this Port there is any exploitable software running it could end up getting bad actors in.

@@TheDutchisGaming be aware, ngrok doesnt request you to oper ports on your firewall, or vpn or router. It uses a "token". So in the whole world the only people who know how to reach the tunnel is the software house ;) you are not able to see how the tunnel works as it relies on reverse proxy and the trasmission have no user/pwd/encryption only a token.. this is it

I'm having trouble with It, not because It isn't working, but because I think my localhost is connected to two webpages, and when I use the ngrok command, it connects me to the wrong one. I used visual studio to connect the right page to localhost but It still gives me a link to the wrong webpage. But thanks for the tutorial!

I have two questions I would appreciate it if you helped me out. If I signed up for 5$ basic which is 8 tunnels/ngrok process does that mean that I get 8 new addition tunnels a month or is it just 8 for the year. Also I used the command killall ngrok , how can I get those tunnels back for use, or did I kill them forever.

Christopher Apodaca caps off, it forwards a connection to your computer via an ngrok server. That way you don’t have to have port forwarding configured, as you can connect to other computers without it, others just cannot directly establish a connection to your computer (most of the time)
