How To Access The Hidden Installer Menu On Sky Box

This video shows you how to access the hidden installer menu on Sky boxes, Sky HD boxes and Sky+HD boxes.
You may need to do this to change RF output, switch on the RF power supply on to set the box into single feed mode.
Step by step guide.
On the Sky handset press:
1- Press 'select'
2- Press in this order one after the other 0,0,1
3- Press 'select'
This will reveal the hidden installer menu

Cheers for this. Changed lnb and pulled put old sky + hd box to use as a freesat box. Surprisingly it records, but albeit only 1 channel at a time regardless of single tuner setting. Any ideas why this might be?

I use my Sky box as a receiver for all the radio stations available. I therefore only have a pair of phono leads running from the analogue out sockets to my amplifier. Unfortunately, the sound level from the Sky box is very low. Is there any way of increasing the analogue out level of the box please? MTIA.

Have an old sky box in sitting room and a new DTV Television set up in a bedroom. Have ran a sky eye from the old sky box to the new tv and the sky eye fully connected and led light confirms receiving. However when I go to scan the AF the channel which in this case is 37 from the old sky box the new TV won't pick up the channel and only gives me DTV option when scanning. Am I missing a step ? Its for my mum who watches TV from sitting room in the day and wants to watch TV from bedroom at night. Please help.

How do you use 1 decoder to watch on 2 TVs so that I dont need the decoder to change channels on the tv that is away from the sky decoders...for example Hospital room TVs can be tuned into the sky without having a decoder present...is it possible

Hi Tom, How do you access the settings when the remote has no services button, our remote looks the same, its about 8 years old. Cannot find a way to change the LNB for a new dish we have. Thanks C151201 is the only number on the inside of the battery cover.

Thanks but just moved into s house and i can't even plug the cable into the wall. There seems to be copper wire sticking out the wall. The previous owner has just yanked the cable out it seems. I tried turning it and it just won't come out. Evrn though it turns. Is there anything you can suggest? Thanks for your video. Do you know how I can remotely control a sky Q box in my parents house 10 miles away. They have difficulty getting the channel number or sometimes lost in the menus. I could rescue the situation for them easily if I could access remotely

Great thanks. After strong wind my box stop showing listing for future programs. Also, the scheduled stop working and only can do it from main menu or catch up. Any advise as with the lock up, Sky is not answering any calls.

Hi, could try powering down the box and turning it back on after a couple of mins. That might work, if the dish has moved in the wind, it will need re-aligning, not an easy task without the right equipment.

Years ago aged 13 I knew how to mess about with a service engineers menu and found loads of channels that either never went live or whatever I even came across a channel that played only a sky news bulletin on the hour Nd was for ships. I remember a channel called blue or something there was never anything on it but it was there 😂

The copper strands on the outer core . Do they need to be connected, as I need to connect two coaxed cable together

I found out that sky Q and sky plus are two different signals, so sky Q won't work on sky + you'd need to get the receiver changed back, there's lots of people out there that can install this on your old dish to get your free view stations, I haven't done it yet.

Hi, yes this LNB on your satellite dish that is used for Sky Q is not compatible with standard Sky. You will need to install a different LNB on your satellite dish.

Hi, i have stopped paying for sky some time ago. i used a HDMI lead to connect to my TV and had access via the sky "Q" Box,and internet, which showed all my old recorded items and gave access to net flix, and BBC i player and many channels via catch-up. i am now unable to get anything ! The error message says i have no satellite signal. i think sky have got the message that i will no longer be paying them for their services and have prevented me from seeing anything on my TV. Am i correct in my assumtion ? Also can i use a "Q" Box to allow me to see those items i had before and or see Free view TV ? Barry.

Hi Barry. I'm afraid that the Sky Q box can't be used without a subscription. I advise you contact Sky as they may have only provided the box on a loan basis, they may want it back.

You need to pair the card with the new box, usually quite easy with boxes connected to the internet. Sky can do this remotely for you if you contact them.

You won't be able to do that with a normal Sky box on Single Feed Mode. The purpose of single feed mode is so that if you do only have one cable connected the box doesn't get confused looking for a second signal. They can behave a bit erratic with only one signal cable connected if you do not set it to single feed mode

I saw a sky box on the rubbish. I picked it up lol.i wanted to see it has a hard drive! I decided to test it first and worked like a magic. Can't be done without a Sky subscription. You can still use it to watch Free To Air channels, but if you want to record etc, you need to pay Sky for that.
