How to access Torchlight 2 Console

For those who can't access the console when you press insert, run the game without mods. This worked for me.

I got it to work and I was having trouble too so this might help for people on laptops. After you do the steps in the video, go in game and look for a "ins" button; mine is on the "prt sc" key. Press "fn" + "ins/prt sc", the console should pop up.

you can create LAN game too and check reroll world and yes it saves your character for offline too

help! it does not work my current version is 1.9.5.1 , does this console require some recent version??? I followed the steps and I even played it offline but as I press the "INSERT" button the console does not show :3 any advice? and by the way I don't play it on steam

You should have a button call insert or ins on your keybord next to the delete buttom

and from what i've read online you get a little red exclamation mark that you can't see if you've used the console on your character. i'm not 100% sure if it flags your character or your account, but you aren't going to get banned or in trouble.

Only the character get banned, plus you can share the gear/skill reset pots without getting flagged on the other characters.

Assuming the game is reading my mouse button (insert key) or my laptop keyboard (fn-key + Enter) as a proper insert button, this doesn't work for me :(

i cant find settings.txt only local_settings.txt, also, in local_setting.txt console nopause is already set to 1 and there is no console. only log console. help? i changed log console to 1 but hitting insert is not work. I use a mac btw.

for me insert just takes screen shot and even if i hold function it still does nothing but take screen shot... is there a way to fix this so i can bring up console another way or something?

i understand i've shown the wrong way to do this. i will be annotating it to be correct. the links in the info though for item numbers is still correct though, which allows you to spawn everything in the game (as of the most recent update)

well sorry to bust ur bubble but some time with some ppl it does not work it 1 of thows ppl see thing go to the save game folder click the same then u see a settings ones u have to change it in there too for it to work but i would have never found it if it was not for this vid so u still get a thumbs up :)

How did you change your keybinding? I've got no insert key (laptop), Function Key + Enter is supposed to work but of course, no console shows up. I can't tell if it just doesn't work for me as it doesn't work for some other people or if it's because the game doesn't understand the fn key.

go into keybindings.dat, change the key for console to 191. it'll open up using the / key now

Get banned from what? Its just modding, which Runic HIGHLY encourages. They wouldnt have included it if they didnt want you to do it.

Your character will be flagged as cheater if you use any cheat commands on console.
