You were spot on about getting comfortable with water around your nose before the course! I didn't! It took me literally weeks before I was able to clear my mask! I didn't think I was going to be able to do it and almost quit but I was finally able to and now I can do it without any problems but it took a while!! I am certified now! :) Great video!

I’m a new diver, I finished my open water course a week before the second lockdown here in the uk and on my last open water dive, we had a safety stop at 5 meters and while everyone sat down on a platform, I hovered in front of them all perfectly neutrally buoyant and after the dive I was given a big well done from my instructor as it’s not an easy skill to pick up right away. Throughout my course your videos helped me massively in being comfortable in the water and knowing a little bit more about my kit and what else it does. I’m thinking about doing the advanced open water course next, as I can’t really go anywhere to dive given the situation we are all in. What do you think?

Airway control is certainly of concern to me. I'll definitely be practicing mask clearing ASAP. I don't want to be the problem student. I'm somewhat relieved I can't afford the open water course yet... I have extra time to study and practice before looking like a total failure!!!!!

Def. the mask skills. Water up and around my nose and the bubbles when I exhale. It's like it gives my nose an enema! I am working on it with the snorkel, getting used to having water around and up my nose. It doesn't seem to be an issue with the snorkel but def. when I use the regulator. Maybe I am breathing out too hard?
