Question: when disassembling the set, why purge both second stages at exactly the same time?
@ScubaDivingTips3 жыл бұрын
Hi Rob, You don't really need to but I have noticed that some new divers don't fully purge their second stage and then they can't get their first stage off. Then I changed it to press both and make a joke like shaking them and now all the air get's out easily and all students in one go can remove their first stages. This greats confidence for them. I hope this helps. Marcel van den Berg

I have question why ur breathing from students primary.? I thinks some people don't want u put ur mouth on it and they have put their mouth before cleaning. I don't know I am not a instructor I just ask.

I don't think now with COVID prevention if that practice will continue. I won't do it. Period.

You mean the Alternate air source right? It's designed for other divers to breath from in the unlikely event they run out of air. We need to practice that in the Open Water Diver course.

@@ScubaDivingTips I believe the question is why during BWRAF you have your buddy breathing from your reg and octo. Yes, we do practice breathing off of your buddy's alternative air source, but underwater.
@ScubaDivingTips3 жыл бұрын
@@fredramirez2711 Because the Octo is their to use for your buddy in the unlikely event he/she might run out of air. Therefore during the buddy check they breathe from it to check if "their" (on yout equipment) octo works. Then again, it's not a standard, just a style. You can also breathe from it yourself if you prefer that. Up to you. Please check my blog for more information: www.scubadivingtips.net/buddy-check-acronym-bwraf-diving-checklist-before-every-scuba-dive.html
