Thank you so Amelia for the great tips. I ride on a Thoroughbred horse with choppy and bouncy strides. I had tried to sit deep and wrap my legs around to avoid bouncing on the seat, especially on sitting trot before transitioning to canter, however still experience a not so smooth transition as i am still bouncing on the saddle. Perhaps i am not sitting deep enough?

Because my girl can spook I always feel that when I soften my contact through the reins I end up having not enough contact when she spooks. I'm trying to find the sweet spot of not too much, but not too little 🤷🏼♀️
