Loved this. Her artistic approach is so interesting and the result is stunning! I am struggling with choosing the right undertone. I would say, I´m pretty neutral with a slight yellow undertone but especially on my body I am tanning rather grey than bronze. So I hover between Natural rose and Honey.

Hi there, the tan lasts around 7 days, but can often last longer! Yes products that contain AHA and retinols will cause the tan to fade faster as these ingredients break down DHA. Fascinating. This does look great and I am very interested. I am naturally very pale but have a yellow undertone. I don't want to look tanned as such but would like to be a bit less white. Could I get that level of subtlety with the honey colourway?

Hi Eileen, yes of course! The Amanda Harrington technique is all about layering, so if you're looking for a light, subtle glow, opt for one layer of the Natural Honey.

I prefer your skin as it is when it's naturally fair Caroline. Not criticising, it's all your choice of course and you look beautiful either way, but I just don't understand why pale skin isn't desirable. Seems to be such a thing in the UK, every UK YTer I watch and love uses fake tan (you Caroline, Caroline H, Pixiwoo girls etc. etc. etc.) I live in Australia and I would be scolded by friends and family if I fake tanned as they would assume I'd been in the sun and give me a bollocking for it, LOL. I don't know anyone who uses fake tan in my age group (middle aged) although I'm sure people do it and it might be "bigger" among younger women, not sure. You have such beautiful "peaches and cream" skin in the UK from not being toasted by the hot sun shining through a gigantic hole in the ozone layer, make the most of it! I'd swap your before skin for mine any day Caroline!

I react badly to dihydroxyacetone DHA, which is in almost EVERY self tanner. It get terrible acne from it. So I am always on the hunt for dha free ones. On my face I only really use the Hylamide glow booster which is DHA free.

Hi Alexandria, the tan will last around the 7 day mark but often lasts longer! There is a very limited scent due to the fact the tan is buffed into the skins epidermis rather than sitting on the top layer.

Hi Julie, the skin on your face is a lot more sensitive than the rest of your body which is why Amanda has created a separate set for the face which has a different range of ingredients. However, you can obviously use the products as you wish, the face tan will look equally as beautiful on the rest of your body and vice versa!

I am ghostly white and slather on mineral sunscreen. The few times I have fake tanned, disastrous! How do you recommend the application of sunscreen then tanner? If I could get your result, I'd do it all summer. P.S. How long does this tan last?

Hi Annemarie, our tan lasts around the 7 day mark, but can often last a lot longer! We would always suggest using an oil free sunscreen such as Heliocare Gel SPF alongside the tan, as other sunscreens can cause the tan to separate on the skin.

If you have a longhandled brush/loofah, you can put the mitt on and secure with a band and try that. I had a roller that i used 😂

You can apply the tan in as quickly as 10 minutes, then if you wanted to spend a little bit more time working on the layering and contouring, you'd probably want to add an extra 15 minutes or so onto that. Difficult to choose a colour as the product is much more expensive than average (& good) brands - if you get it wrong, you would have spent over £75... I understood that those who have olive skin but are pale from UK “sun” would still choose “olive” colour

Update, my Amanda Harrington products arrived and I’ve had a chance to use them, the brushes are too soft and fluffy to achieve any contouring and the olive tone was decidedly orange on my light olive toned skin. I’m decidedly underwhelmed with the products and considering the price point 😮. IN MY OPINION NOT WORTH THE HYPE.
