A splitter may cause signal issues if there are too many splits and no impedance terminators on unused ports. My setup does not use a traditional splitter instead I axed the splitter the service provider installed and put an active rteturn amplifier in it's place which allows me to split the service 9 ways out. Whats so interesting about this amplifier is how broad it is in band coverage so it not only works on cable services but also works to boost OTH tv via outdoors antenna as well.

It's possible you may have a unique set up! We try to keep things as uniform as possible, but that's not always possible. If you don't have a house box that has the cables outside, usually you'll have the line running into the home somewhere like a utility closet that houses all of your cabling. If you're needing an outlet activated, you can always reach out to us at any of the options listed at Midco.com/Contact and we can get someone scheduled to come out and get that taken care of for you. -Scott

I can't find the actual splitter in my home, outside there are coaxial cables leading into the back of the electric panel in the garage. Could it be behind there or is that not a possibility?
@MidcontinentCommunications Жыл бұрын
You should normally be able to find the main splitter on the other side of the house box where the coaxial first enters the building. If you're still having trouble with this then we can always get a technician out to take a look too. Wait I upgrade my Cox modem and router and I install putting a coax plug in the outlet my Cox router and modem keeps flashing orange and it doesn’t turn white. This means my Coax outlet is active?
@MidcontinentCommunications11 ай бұрын
Hey Martin! It could be that the outlet is inactive, but you'll want to reach out to Cox to make sure that the modem is set up properly on their end. Sometimes if the modem isn't provisioned (the programming that tells the modem what service it gets) it can act like you're describing as well. -Scott

@@MidcontinentCommunications How do I active on coax outlet I have it in my living room and my room? Do I contact Cox?
@MidcontinentCommunications11 ай бұрын
If you can find the line that leads into the outlet you can typically connect that to the splitter that comes into your home. However, you may want to reach out to your provider to have them activate your outlet if you're not able to get it working. Sometimes the signal needs adjusting or balancing to ensure that it's strong enough to provide the connection without being so strong it causes issues like signal ingress. -Scott

Comcast came and dug up are yard and attached a cable line to our house and ran it to the back yard. But it's not connected to anything and the wiring is bare, with no coax tip on it. Where they set up the wiring we don't see that box. Can anyone tell us what's next or who to call? Comcast is killing us with service fees and aren't giving us any information.
