Using both operating systems I can tell you the note 8 runs very well. These tips are provided just to have a bit of extra punch not that you need it. But if you do here you go :)

I have a Galaxy Note 5 that does everything these iPhones do. 4K raw video. I USE the stylus. I want this galaxy Note 8. I wish we still had IR sensor and removable battery. My two main complaints. You don't need Greenify on Galaxy Note 8. Go to Settings, Device maintenance, Battery and in Unmonitored apps select the ones you want or need to run all the times. Then select power saving mode. That's it.

These really aren't any tips to BEAST mode your Note 8. Doing all this, you won't notice a difference at all. Maybe some better battery life with not having Sync on. Poor poor tips.

One thing I do is to turn the animations to 0.5x and when I root, I turn them to 0.25x, the transitions are super fast. Nova launcher does feel speedier than stock samsung launcher. Another thing is that you don't need to be killing apps everytime, that actually slows down performance because they will need to be loaded into RAM again. The Note 8 has plenty of RAM, it will take around 26 apps to make a previously opened app to reload. Greenify seems to have the opposite effect on my phone, actually draining battery faster. Turn on the auto-reboot option to reboot the phone once a week to keep it working smoothly. iPhone users can say whatever, they can do very limited stuff with their phones, so the beast there is pretty much caged.

Nick, 1) Greenify is truly unneeded in modern Android versions. Settings-> Device maintenance-> Battery has a comprehensive set of "Greenify" features built in. 2) One antimalware is free, ridiculously fast, small and capable: webroot. It even provides some identity protection in the background. Once installed it is basically invisible, which I like. 3) Many are not aware of www.google.com/android/devicemanager -- built in capability to find your phone, ring it (even w/ ringer turned off), and wipe it if you can't get it back. 4) I too like Nova launcher. Switched a while ago and have not looked back.

I purchased a note 8 and returned it for a plus 8. As a person tuned into Apple as far as communication and networking is concerned, tinge iPhone 8 plus is great. Overall I had a.l great appreciation for the Note 8. The bixby app was incredible and will be a powerhouse for Samsung. Seeing an app learn in real time is dope. I found the phone froze several times but that may be due to amount of apps downloading and movement through screens. iPhone 8 screen is easier on my eyes. I really think both phones are great and people should dedicate their energy to figuring out what is best for them. The versus battle will always be there and I’m sure both companies appreciate it.

Age-old trick that changes the animations, not really the speed of the phone. As a bonus, it makes your phone more unstable and prone to errors and app crashes. Note 8 doesn't need any such tweaks, it's perfect the way it is. If you get bored, get a new phone or change themes.

Some great tips and thanks for putting them together. Just a personal tip, can you slow it down a bit. I have had to stop and replay many times to catch it all. It is easy for you in the know but trying to find stuff the first time is a bit time consuming. I am not saying silly slow but you do rush along a fair bit.

I'm coming from a note 3 and this phone has zero lag and the battery is actually pretty good. I am confident this will stay this way and I am really surprised as lag issues and battery life has always been a problem with me on the note 3. The screen size is just perfect for me. Can't wait for that android o update though. If you turn off animations you will struggle with multi tasking. You have been warned. It makes app switching jaggy

Actually Samsung do not recomend to use a static wallpaper because of the Amoled screen, it's a risk to get a screen in-burn :) all the oled and amoled panels have this problem
