If AC is on then is it normal to hear some Short lasting noise from engine bay from time to time.. when car is idling? its a sound that last for few seconds.. and then stops. btw rpm are normal (around 800) whole time. IS THAT maybe AC COMPRESSOR TURNING ON?

Btw.. what is your real file difference in fuel consumption when ac is on VS when ac is off?? i have 1.6 77kW petrol engine.

Yes, it could be even 1 liter more. At least 0.5 liter.

i hade AC ON last 3 months until today.. and consumption was about 7L / 100km. Not bad at all.

I have the same issue in my Zafira. Now waiting for a replacement dashboard unit, hope it's just a broken button.

Replacing the dashboard AC control panel fixed the issue for me. Pressing the central knob didn't open the AC menu at first, so I think it was just a broken button in the old panel. The cost of the part was about €30.
