some of this information is incorrect , if you have a post facelift a4 with MMI 3G you have to enable the option with VCDS or the option will remain greyed out do these steps with vcds first .09 - central elect, 07-coding, Long code Helper , Byte 16, bit 6 - Interior/ Ambience Lighting Adaptation active. @@EJR20 the foot well lights can be on while you drive. Let's say you switch then to blue, pink, whatever LED it'll set a nice glow

See, I had a feeling you switched to 5.. what does the 1 - 100ish number do? Why 5, why 1,2,3 etc? Then there's options that need 1/9 komfort etc..

Hi mr-fix. You have a great chanell here. I've installed the light/rain sensor on an audi A4 B8.5 (facelift 2012-2015) following a guide and done everything in the 09 control unit as shown. Now the rain sensor works but I haven't got anything on the mmi 3g low screen about exterior lighting. Do you know what number under carmenuoperation/exterior ligting should be set for coming/leaving home and automatic lights?

I carried this out on my A4 b8.5. The ambient lighting is grey when the engine is running, when I switch off the engine the ambient lighting is then available. I then go into it and can move the dial on screen, which makes no difference and keeps going back to the same place. When I come out of the screen the ambient lighting is greyed out again. Is it the comfort module not supporting it or perhaps a firmware upgrade?

How to change the maximum intensity ? With the cursor of MMI at maximum the ambiance lighting it is working, but the lighting is very low (under 40-50%)

Hi mr fix, great site with tons of info. I have a 2015 audi a4 premium plus, most options, mmi 3g+, i have enabled hidden menu, have been able to turn on interior lights to appear in menu but unfortunatley it is greyed out. Is there anything i can do to be able to activate this? I purchased red led lights for the footwells but seems like i won't be able to turn them on while driving or control brightness when entering. Seems like such an odd thing to not be able to do when there are so many technical options on the car. I can control the brightness of the lane assist leds but not turn on the footwell leds. Hope there is a solution. Seems to be working otherwise as i was able to enable gauge sweep on igintion and is working fine. Thanks for any help

i think you must use vcds to activate the ambient lights first.

Yeah I've got the same problem. Activated the footwell lighting and ambience lighting in vcds, but the menu is greyed out on mmi. It becomes available when I switch off the car. But the on screen dial for brightness just goes back to where it was and the menu goes to greyed out again.

@@lukaszM46 yes, if doors are closed and your headlights are on, then footwell lights also stay on but dimmed (brightness adjustable via MMI screen). Basically you can see it only at night.

Most likely your car is not correctly coded. Find an Audi diagnostic workshop and confirm that folding mirrors are enabled in both door modules, in central convenience module and in central electronics module.
