Used to work 152.48000 for nationwide service years ago. If still available on the market pagers can be recrystaled and tuned if they are on the right bandsplit. Even within general frequency band splits there can be sub splits. A VHF pager used on the 152 MHz split cannot be used on 160 or 146 MHz. Don’t know if one can still order pagers on specific frequencies from Motorola since there is little demand for them today. Back in the nineties I had Both an RCC and a Private Carrier license, the latter being used for repeater service as well.

Honestly I dont see much of personal use for number only pagers. However, with the fall of voice in favor of texting Im a little surprised the two way systems did see a rekindling (at least I havent noticed one anyways....). That being said, using a pager system to send signals to remote devices I could see a use for in some cases. Of course, now we have LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Networks such as LoRa and LoRaWAN) radios, so as long as its fairly close (within a few km, or can get a transceiver on a high spot) its not that big of an issue to send and receive, granted low throughput, messages from/to remote equipment. Note: This is, obviously ignoring the hospital, hospitality, and facilities management aspects of job assignment that text based pager messaging does very much have use cases for, even if one way. Damn near perfect uses for the technology actually...

Mine is a Motorola BPR 2000 Tone & Voice Pager, Is there any hope for me? the ONLY number on it is 1-12290 inside battery door and on the bottom of the clip. NO other numbers. Maybe if I tear it down and look for a label inside it.

Hi, unless it is one of the 3 frequencies mentioned in our video, we would not be able to activate your pager. You could still use your pager as a trade-in to get 3 additional months of service when you prepay 12 or 24 months of service when ordering a pager from pagersdirect.net. Thanks for your interest!

Hey guys! UK viewer here so just a _bit_ outside of your coverage area (As well as my country _Levelling Up_ to about 700 years behind the invention of the pager! 🏛🇬🇧🤣) but I'm curious about the two-way pagers you and some other commenters have mentioned. I don't think these ever appeared in the UK or Europe, and they sound rather a curiosity! 😇 Is there any chance we could please have a video introducing and explaining them, and (For the benefit of intending US customers) how to tell if a two-way pager is reactivatable under your service? 📟👼😇 Cheers! 🇬🇧 😺👍

Hi, unfortunately, since we recorded this video, we have discontinued carrying 2-way pagers due to availability issues. We do however offer a 2-way pager app called Zipit Confirm that works on smartphones and allows secure texting and paging via the app.
