Great video, lots of encouraging ideas here! I love the idea of zero target sentences. Makes me realise that my current goal of learning lots of vocabulary (through WaniKani in my case) is just step one. Once I've built up a big enough vocabulary I can start watching anime that contains zero target sentences, and that's where the real improvement will begin. I echo what others have said about the audio. It sounds very compressed - it has the effect of sounding like your voice is shouting, it's quite intense! Thanks for an otherwise great video

Hello Migaku folks! Thank you for this video. I'm not a huge fan of flashcards but I'd like to renew my approach. I quite liked the analogies in the video. My only criticism was that sometimes it felt like the topics began to scatter, somewhat, but overall, I think this video packed a lot of good content into 20 minutes. Thank you again.

I would argue that making a new card for a word can make sense. When I'm immersing and encountering the same word again, and I don't remember the word, then I assume my previous card wasn't the right one to learn the word. so I get rid of the old one and make a new one. Making multiple sentence card can actually also function as another immersion opportunity, especially if one is too lazy to watch a movie or series on repeat all time edit: also doing this, if a word is first-pass during reps, I delete the card

Is there a data for adult second language learners about which words are remembered more easilily? Will concrete words like an "elephant" have bigger priority than the abstract words like a "state" to "to become" even though the latter words will occur more often in the content?

Hello,how do I fix migaku sentence audio? It does not record the sentence properly.... edit. ahh i figured it out.. migaku is bad with netflix. The subtitles jump around, making it record the privious sentence audio intead. [For every video from any video sites] when u pause the video it does not record a sentence audio...

Great video. Content is very good. Video editing on point as well. Yoga made an impressive physical transformation ! Did he use the Migaku cut-the-fat add-on or what ?! Only criticism is Yoga's pronunciation of the word "sekkaku" !!! There are two "k" my brother !!!! Yoga flame ! 🔥🔥🔥

Perhaps to reduce the negativity with failing the flash card, you can change the symbol from an X to something more positive.

Hi I'm planning to use Migaku to learn Japanese. I don't even know even a little bit about Japanese and I want to purchase the lifetime plan. Is it suitable for a very beginner like me? 😅
@andreasstahl82077 ай бұрын
Yes, It's suitable for all levels. They even have a beginners course where you learn all the basic grammar and common words. Sign up for a month and try it out and see for yourself if you like it 😃

Hey Lucas, you need help with audio mixing your videos? Ill do it for free since im a fan of Migaku cuz this video is great, but the audionis smashed, crazy sibilance and has too much room verb coming thru due to the audio being smashed. I can help y'all out like I said! I have a great portfolio if youre interested!

I try not to spend more than 10-20 seconds per card. My average retention is about 85% according to my Anki stats.

I am against using ANKI or any kind of flashcards. I have never used flashcards, I don't understand them, I don't know why anyone would want to use them. There are many disadvantages with flashcards: 1. They are time-consuming. It may take a long time just to write them. Then you have to read and keep repeating until you get the answers correctly. That can also take a long time. 2. They are boring, tedious, you may lose motivation. 3. They take the words out of context. It is much harder to memorize and understand them. Flashcards are completely inefficient compared to just reading. 4. The fact that you can answer all flashcards correctly doesn't mean you have learned the subject. Why not just read a book? In the same time you create and read flashcards you could just read a book. In one hour you can read several pages of a book. In the same hour how many flashcards can you write (and read)? Flashcards are much more time-consuming than just reading. Or, if you are studying something like Physics or Mathematics, you should just solve a bunch of exercises from a textbook. Most textbooks have plenty of exercises for you to practice. All you have to do is solve them. The book author already prepared all the exercises for you, you don't need to write them, unlike flashcards. If you are learning a foreign language you should read as much as possible. Reading is the best way to acquire vocabulary. You consult the dictionary for the words necessary to understand the text. Reading is much more fun, entertaining, engaging and pleasant than using flashcards. By reading you always see the words in context. In the case of JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) you should buy specific books for it. There are books on sale that specifically help you for the test, offering a bunch of exercises similar to the JLPT questions. It is a much more efficient way to study than flashcards created by someone you don't know. Even if you nailed all the ANKI flashcards, there is no way to know if the flashcards are actually related to the JLPT. Textbooks on the other hand will base their exercises on the actual questions that appear in the exam. I have been studying Swedish for 3 years now mostly by translating song lyrics. I have translated almost 500 songs. I listen to the songs while reading the lyrics, I get vocabulary and pronunciation at the same time. It is a lot of fun and pleasant, I never get bored. I don't worry about memorization, I only care about understanding the lyrics. In the beginning I was barely translating one song in one hour. Now I can translate more than 8 songs in one hour. And I never study more than one hour per day.

well you can so totally make flashcards fun done a certain way, you can use them as an immersion tool for me it's an enjoyable recap of all the videos, series and movies I watched most important to me is that I get the audio clip, that's the only reason I got into flashcards

What you have done in 3 years could have been done in 1 year or less, some people not have all the time in the world to learn something
@CaptainWumbo6 ай бұрын
Yeah it's unfortunate. Learning science is advancing but the popular understanding of it has regressed tremendously. People have gotten really confused by the forgetting curve. Reading is great because a lot of good learning comes out of it without any specialized knowledge of how learning works. Flashcards are the result of knowing a little doing a lot of harm.

Just because you have trouble listening to him doesn't mean he needs a spokesperson. Most of us have certainly no issues listening to him. For myself, he's for sure the easiest one of the team to listen to. You can have your opinion and think that way, of course, but having a spokesperson just because you think that way? 😂
