Just a heads up on this video, the logistics industry just got hit with a recession last year, and the company that I'm currently working in barely survived (we handle mainly refrigerated). If this is the case, it's best to have a relationship or start a relationship with a company before you move on with anything. Have a plan, and don't be discouraged, but know the risk you may have. Best advice anyone will say is have a plan!

Finding direct shipper loads is the key to retained earnings. In 1 year, I found 3 large direct shippers, with millions in annual shipments. Businesses that are inelastic to inflation, or consumer spending. So it is possible. The caveat. The broker mentality is not condusive to building long lasting direct shipper relationships. Turn down a load, or show up late, and thats the end. Few trucking businesses are financed in a way that makes turning away a primo broker load possible.

SOLID VIDEO GIL! Really enjoyed all the information you shared. Would it be possible for you to create and share a follow up document or excel spreadsheet with the total costs for insurance? Maybe share the insurance rates that you're paying from the insurance companies you listed? Also, another great video idea might be on detailing the free CDL grants or scholarships that may be available for new comers to get their CDL and start trucking in various states. I'm about to move to Tampa, FL and would love any recommendations for free CDL grants that may be available. Otherwise I'll be enrolling in CDL school through RoadMaster.

I'm going to make two points here one. You did not mention about California. California has a spacific requirement that you get their. C.A number, which is basically their M.C. Number. California requires individuals that either have. a terminal or home base in California or come through or go through have a CA number which is the equivalent of an MC. Now.

You misunderstand. I said automated trucks are what they're trying to replace TRUCK DRIVERS with. Not owner operators. Also, it's still a LONG way away (more than 10-20 years in my opinion... even then, drivers won't be completely replaced). The point of the video is to highlight the importance for truckers to develop additional skills outside of just driving.

But some good ones were drag down with them. Owner operators have been continuosly beating out the mega carriers and forced mega carriers to speed up their governed trucks. How crude is it to promote trucking when the industry is suffering from the last time these promos appeared. Truckers are leaving because of over supply and over priced trucks, especially class eight tractor units. Look at the cause and realities not the emotions. If you overpay to join at the bottom of the market you deserve what you get. Fall into the clutches of brokers. Suffer or think.

No its not my friend has two trucks and he makes $200k on one truck. Everyone’s success in trucking is different. Grant it its not how it use to be before Covid I’m assuming that’s what your referring to lowkey. But it’s still a lot of money in it I’m a 9 yr vet truck driver and I just started my LLC last week so I’m hoping for good things
