How to ACTUALLY use the Predator SRAW - A BF2042 Guide

I played BC2 a lot, in which the anti-air launcher of choice was the AT4 which functioned exactly like the SRAW in 2042. With the exception that once you had fired your rocket, you could still control it while unzoomed, meaning you weren't restricted by the zoomed in viewfinder. When dice introduced the SRAW to 2042 I jumped on it and was immediately disappointed with how terrible it was. Your video is serendipitous however as last couple of days I have been practicing with the sraw. Landing hits feels amazing but it is fiendishly difficult. If you don't keep the rocket on the target the whole time it's incredibly hard to tell if your rocket is still in front or already behind your target. Getting gud is hard when you have to scrounge around for ammo, but easier if you bring a friend who is willing to lug around an ammo box or play Angel.

They absolutely messed up its release xD it must have been completely untested. I enjoyed the AT4 in BC2, but I was on console back then, so I could only get so much use out of it. It wasn't until I finally got into BF4 that I learned to love the SRAW. Having a pocket Angel is amazing in this game if you like to play an engineer.

Amazing guide, I personally only use the SRAW as a 'flex' for my own personal satisfaction (as you say the adrenaline vs 'yet another Lis shot'). It's really just a joy weapon and as you say, I can't get away from Crawford RPG build (wet sock Boris can stay on the bench). What on Earth was that rock organ at the end?! :D

I think Boris would work better as a recon personally and Rao would be better as an engineer, especially if they gave him deep pockets for C4 or mines...

The Crawford RPG really is just the optimum Engineer build imo. But the SRAW is too much fun. The rock organ part was my take at referencing the Battlefield Bad Company 1 Title screen: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmHVh5ujlqiGh6ssi=MavlBnqQkdplp3dX I got a musician friend to come up with a similar theme. I'm excited to use it somewhere else too :D

Great video. I've been slowly working up the mastery on the SRAW. Thanks for the tips. The only thing I'd add is, for armor, try to position yourself to get in the last shot. Let others soften up the target and then hit them.

Thanks! I appreciate it! It's so rare to find another SRAW player, I'm glad others are finding use of it! If you want to be working on the mastery, then yeah you need to be getting those kills with the SRAW itself. But in general, I just throw everything I have at the vehicle and often my finishing weapon is usually the AP underbarrel. I'll typically go 1 SRAW, 1 AT grenade, 1 SRAW, 2 AP underbarrel. That's usually enough to kill anything on the ground.

AINT NO FUCKIN WAY LETSGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO great fuckin guide btw as a BF4 SRAW main you hit everything on the spot and did some amazing work great clips id like to add a few tips though that may or may not translate from BF4 to here full disclosure i havent used it yet but i plan to immediately after writing this so take em with a grain of salt 1. this is laughably good against tanks and infantry get highground or a building roof and look down at your enemies and just direct impact infantry its easy kills 2.if you want a good giggle use the predator drone strat - aim straight up shoot the missile then look back down at whatever you wanna hit and have the missile come down on em like a predator missile xp its not the most efective thing but its super fun to do glhf lads!

Lol the predator drong strat sounds jokes, for me in BF4 it was surprisingly similar to flick shots with a sniper. Just so you know, as Dan covered in the video, this isn't a great anti tank weapon.

I was using this the other day against some snipers on the cranes on manifest. Launching it directly at their lense flares and just watching them get blow off. It was a good laugh I'm not sure if the predator strat will work in 2042. The missile might turn too slowly... but I could be wrong... I'll have to try it. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah, the SRAW hits feel amazing to get. I understand why no one is using it right now, but I would love to see a few good SRAW compilations. I loved it in BF4 since I had just moved to PC. The AT4 (the SRAW equivilent in BC2) was fun, but I was a console player for that game so couldn't get the most out of it.

Another well made guide Dan, I love these weapons that take a bit of practice and skill to get really good with. I also can't remember the last time I saw a Angel crate, it feels like forever ago lol.

I always use the RPG with Crawford to the point that up to medium range (200m) I'm better at killing aircraft with RPG than lizziles. But I used to own aircraft with SRAWs in BF4 so I'm gonna give it a go

You can get really good with the RPG, I think so many people don't even try hitting aircraft with the dumbfire launchers, but it's actually easier than you would think if you keep practicing. The SRAW is worth it if you can be patient enough to get the feel for it, based on the fun factor alone.

I loved the sraw in bf2 (and was called the insane anti-tank commander 😂) but I didn't get used to it in bf2042 so far... I prefer the TV missile, but after watching that video I'll give it a try Edit: you're pretty good with th sraw, holy moly 😂

It's so much fun, but it takes a long time to get used to it and sometimes you need a bit of luck xD I have gotten much better, and I have some of the muscle memory from using the BF4 version of the weapon.

Making sure the missile layers over your target is actually such an elite tip. Wish our options for AA didn't feel so anemic still. Getting recoilless M5 damage with half the rockets just sucks. Makes running this launcher on Boris completely useless.

What would you say is the best engineer Main weapon and why?

The optimum Engineer loadout in my opinion, Crawford with the SFAR with the AP underbarrel, RPG, and AT grenade. The SFAR is great because of its high damage with the highpowered drum and easy to control recoil. The AP underbarrel is criminally underrated as a vehicle killer, before the RPG was added, it was the highest DPS you could do to a vehicle. Really anything with an AP underbarrel option is great for Engineers. I just think the SFAR is peak AR. I hope this helps!
