I ordered the cable, socket and connectors from your amazon links. Going to add a 2x12. Cheers.

Great video love to see the head with different cabs thank you

One question, does it have a dummy load? Can I turn on the head without a speaker or headphone cable plugged in?

Great video- looking to do this too. Re the apparent improvement in sound when using ?any other speaker, I think it is worth saying that the Boss cabinet is made from mdf and chipboard- not materials usually associated with good acoustic properties. Would be interesting to see the Katana speaker in a pine or ply cabinet.

Great idea, gonna have to see if I can do this with my Spark...

can I do something similar to my mk1 50? If I disconnect the amp I can turn it into a cab for my micro dark amp head? sorry if it’s a stupid question Dx

Great idea- did you say you used this with headphones only? I thought you always had to have a speaker (load) connected when powered?
@Honore09912 жыл бұрын
Great idea man. I was thinking i made the wrong choice buying 100watt combo instead of head :) You gave me a project to work on. I was also wondering if the headphone out jack is powerful enough to drive 250 ohm headphones. Cheers:)
@Cymanytb2 жыл бұрын
i mean, i own a katana and i think it is powerful enough. With headphones, I can't turn the master to more than 40% without rupturing my ear drums so yeah.

speakers don't really have a ground now do they? if you flip the cables it will just invert the phase, not really a big deal I guess.

I actually did the same thing, separating the head and cab on my Katana 50. Quick question: I've seen the red number display that is constatly changing in other videos too; is that a decibel meter?
@PherotoneStudios Жыл бұрын
It should really come as standard. Great little mod. Yeah that’s a decibel meter. About £50 from amazon
@peterludlow98473 жыл бұрын
Would it be possible to use the katana MK2 50 has a cabinet to use a Marshall 1amp head. Many thanks
@ERIKPLATA9 ай бұрын
Yes is very easy
@justinTime0774 жыл бұрын
Is that a decibel reader in the background?
@PherotoneStudios4 жыл бұрын
Yes. When I practice, I have the habit of getting louder and louder, so it’s to avoid hearing damage

Clarification the 50w katana is compatible with a 8ohms it was a fuck up by boss it’s an 8 ohm speaker I tested it with a meter.

Now i want to do the same to my boss katana so badly. there is no speaker output which is ANNOYING. I hate the built in speaker!
@PherotoneStudios3 жыл бұрын
A lot of people do. And after adding that output I realised that every cab sounds better than the stock katana one. You could just change the speakers though
