I'm glad you like our towel video. The recipes are an embroidery pattern purchased from Lunch Box Quilts (www.lunchboxquilts.com/shop/product/holiday-recipe-towel/ is one. They have several available now.). You may be able to find the patterns at your local quilt shop or through Amazon.com with this link: amzn.to/2BoH2h5.

You give great directions. Love the 2 and 1 inch idea. BUT, why take the hem and 2" side seams out of the towel???
@Needlepointers3 ай бұрын
Hi Nonnie! I wanted to be able to fold the sides of the towel border into the side seam so it blended in. Happy Sewing!

Perfect!! I actually needed to learn how to put a border on a little blanket, but your video was very clear and most helpful. Thanks for making it. Happy Holidays, your gifts will be great!

I love this...I was just trying to do this w/some towels I just completed but looked kind of boring, so this finish will work out great with just a few strips of left over fabric...Thanks

What is the stabilizer you used to stitch the recipe on the towel? Did you hoop the towel and the stabilizer?
@Needlepointers9 жыл бұрын
+Bobbie Keefer I use medium weight tear away stabilizer and I hoop both the towel and the stabilizer. If you enjoyed the video, please subscribe to our channel and click the 'Like' button!

How do you do all the writing on the towel? do you have a tutorial for that?
@Needlepointers5 жыл бұрын
Hi Maria! The writing on the towel is done with an embroidery machine and a pattern from Lunch Box Quilts. www.lunchboxquilts.com/shop/#recipe-towels. Please subscribe to our channel so you will not miss any new videos!

Thank you for your helpful information. I visited lunch box quilts and I was unable to find the recipe software you used. Can you please let me know the name of the package/CD you used?
@Needlepointers8 жыл бұрын
Hi. They are apparently not selling that exact package anymore but they have other sets of recipe towels at: www.lunchboxquilts.com/shop/#recipe-towels. The one I used was their first package which was just called "Recipe Towels". I also have one for "Chocolate Recipe Towels" but they don't have that listed anymore either. But they do have "More Chocolate Recipe Towels". Happy Sewing!

Thanks for the great video! I had a question about the font for recipe? May I ask what it is - all of what I have is so large - how did you make it so tiny and readable?
@Needlepointers8 жыл бұрын
Hi Adrienne! The recipes are done with a disk of patterns I bought from Lunch Box Quilts. They digitize the recipes and the graphics and I just stitched them out. So, I don't know what font they use.
@janetmckinney24875 жыл бұрын
so no stabilizer?
@Needlepointers5 жыл бұрын
There is no stabilizer in the fabric border. I used stabilizer when embroidering the designs as it's always needed for embroidery.

I have done 3 projects all has failed. doing them on quilt blocks , hand towels and T-shirts my upper thread keeps winding around my lower bobbin threads and my pattern gets ruin by the sewing machine eating a hole through my project what am I do wrong... the tension or what, I use stabilaizer on both front and back of project it takes me so long to get it out of the machine Using a brothers SE425 does the speed matter using between slow and medium I want to do the same thing you are doing in the video receipe on towel
@Needlepointers8 жыл бұрын
Hi Mary. I know that must be really frustrating! I would suggest that you try to embroider something on just plain fabric or muslin first with the stabilizer. There are some embroidery designs that are better than others, meaning some can cause you headaches. So, make sure you are getting patterns from a good designer. When you are hooping your project, are you hooping the fabric and stabilizer together? And what stabilizer are you using exactly with what type of fabric? This could also be a problem with how you are threading your machine and threading your bobbin. Or, your machine could also need servicing. If there is a little nick in your bobbin chase then it could cause the top thread to get caught up and do what you are describing. I'm sorry but I don't have the same machine as you so I don't know specifics about your machine. If you are on Facebook, I found this group: facebook.com/groups/1668425060045849/ which specializes in your machine. Maybe you can post there and they can help you better since they have the same machine as you! I hope you get it fixed and can embroider!

Can't you set your embroidery machine to NOT do jump stitches that are that short?
@Needlepointers9 жыл бұрын
+G wenna Doty , I did look into this once and found I could not change it. I think it has to do with the way the pattern is written too.

My embroidery machine uses PES/DST formats. Sometimes when I open up a PES design it will have jump stitches but if I open it up in DST format there are not any jump stitches........maybe this will help.......I despise those jump stitches! and When I made wording I usually make the letters a different color ever other letter, just using 2 colors and alternating. That way b/c the design thinks it has to stop and change the color....there won't be a jump stitch. But when you send it to the machine u can make everything the same color and there won't be any jump stitches, that way, either.
