I recently bought this big wheel on Aliexpress. It took just over 3 (yes! 3!) weeks from China. Not bad at all, worth the $$ savings. Also, I saw using a flashlight, that both bearings are in fact held in with C-clips. I was going to remove a bearing and install a spacer. Glad I looked first. Great video! Many thanks from Oregon.

Not sure how much hollow grinding I'll do, but there are occasions for a wheel. Does the tool rest extend far enough with the standard arm to use with this?

Would you be willing to make a video about dimensions of the belt sander? And maybe feature some creative ways people store belts and that kind of misc video?
@CGT80
@CGT80 Жыл бұрын
I used the same cad drawings I created for a garden hose holder to hold my belts. It is a half circle, maybe 10" or so across. I added a slit to the front and use a rod bent into a hook to get belts from 8' high up on my garage walls. You can do a google search like I did, to find the various way people store belts. I doubt he will do a video on it. Basically, just keep the belt in a loop without bends. My holders have belts in less than 5 or 6 belts per group and then two groups fit on each holder with 3+ holders total.........6 groups of belts for coarse, medium, fine, J flex, and then the often used belts where I can reach without the rod. Unfortunately, I haven't made any videos recently since rebuilding my garage and making a bunch of new organization units to go with my newer tools like the Revolution.

@CGT80
@CGT80 Жыл бұрын
@@Stillpoint23 I went with a 7" wheel on my Revolution grinder, but have a 3hp 3ph motor. I have it set to 4500 rpm max which is 8,000 sfm. Bigger is better. 4500-6500 is the speed I use most.......I set my vfd to show sfm on the display. For detailed work I will run 1,000 to 2,000 sfm. It all depends on your motor speed and HP and what you do. I plasma cut parts and do fab work but have not made any knives yet. Finishing cut plate steel or dressing tubing and small parts makes up most of my work so far. 75/25 is the only way I LIKE to go for welding. I will choose tig first, then mig, and flux core as a last resort. My brother liked the dual shield I suggested for 3/4" plate, but I have not tried it yet. Needless to say, I can't comment on antispatter spray, other than running argon mix will pretty much eliminate the need for spray.
