How to add a new supply line from your water heater

I'm splicing 1/2" copper tubing from an exposed connection to the end source. I wanted to make sure the electric water heater was off so as not to burn the heating elements inside when the water was drained. You answered that question on how to do that. It looks like the procedure is the same as when I replaced the heater awhile back.. Thanks.

On second thought, I'd rather use your method to run the pipe. No soldering, no mistakes. Just four small holes in 2 walls. Thanks again. My daughter now has 10 ft of copper wind chimes. Lol!

It would have taken minimum effort to make it look like a professional install. The difference a few 90s would make !! Why insulate half of the run and not the rest ? What if you decide to drywall and finish the walls one day ?? Not busting your balls, just curious what your thoughts are ?!?!
