I just did this same retrofit … when you are done with coding you still have to go in ISTA and initialize it . That could be the reason why don’t close all the way …ISTA needs to set open and close limits on the trunk .

Hi Great Video. One question, on the switch that fits to the trunk, on my switch I have pin 1 - brown / green pin 2 - grey / yellow pin 3 - red / yellow pin 4 - empty Pin 2 is not empty and pin 4 does not have the blue / light blue wire. Can you please let me know how to wire this switch ?

hi,my bmw F10 got retrofited power tail gate,it didnt had any keyless entry before ,i noticed one issue is that the button is not eliminating,I check the plug behind the inner button and orange-red wire got not + power supply.everthing working fine..is the orange-red wire suppose to connect to boot interior lamp +?

I'm gonna be retrofitting this on my bmw, quick question I had is, I know some bmws that come with this from the factory will beep at you when the trunk is about to close, is there a way to activate that chime through coding or other way? With little kids around and operating it everyday themselves, I'd be worried some fingers could be pinched or heads bonked lol. Thanks.

hello, I followed your model for installing the electric trunk kit for the f10, only that my car does not come with that car lock button and in your model only pin 2 appears where the rest of the 3 pins are connected, I don't know where I have to connect them, can you please help where can I connect the three pins?

Honestly I’m not sure. You can check RealOEM and see if the components have the same part numbers.

7 series shocks are longer then 5 series,in other words if you fit 7 series into 5 series the trunk will only open 75%, result,anyone using the boot will end up heating their head on to the closing latch..lol
