I was torn between being lazy and just use buttons for my crochet bags or take the hard way and sew on zippers. Thanks to your video, I found out that sewing on zippers isn't as hard as I thought it would be. I'm planning on selling the bags I made but I felt like people won't buy it if the bag isn't closed with zippers. Thank you so much for your tutorial! I absolutely appreciate it.

Thank you SO much for posting this! I'm very tall and chunky and have a hard time buying cross body bags. SO i've been making them myself. I can crochet a strap for my self that is long enough and will sit at my hip, where i want it. Not under my boobs😂Where I don't want it I I used to sew and took tailoring in high school, but that was over 45 yrs ago and completely forgot how to put in a zipper. I LOVE your video and saved it to my file. You make it look so easy, so i'm going to make the bag and put in a zipper! So glad I subscribed to your site.

I used a tiny hole puncher to make the stitch holes. Easier on your hands and the hook. 😀

Why is my zipper curving BROOO IM GETTING FRUSTRATED

I made 2 of these and my zippers came out really wavy. I just finished crocheting the yarn around the edge of the zipper for my 3rd bag, and I really made an effort to space my stitches out a little more, and no wave or curving. I also stitched a little closer to the edge of the zipper. Not sure if that is what helped or not, but when I attach to the bag, I’m going to watch my tension, too.

If the crochet looks wavy, there are too many stitches. If it “cups,” there are too few stitches.

The size of the crocheting hook and the tension used will play a crucial role for the final product I believe. The smaller the hook the better from my experience, if the a huge gap in tension used for all stitches that'll will interfere with the final product. But aiming to have at least the same tension all across stitches helps better.
