TIP: If your Motion project isn't working, make sure that after you delete the Text layer, the Title Background layer is turned on before you save out of Motion. Hope this helps.

Just made my adjustment layer in Motion, followed your instructions... adjustment layer shows in FCP, but when dragged to my timeline and add an adjustment it does nothing.... tried the comic ink one as in your video, but nothing happens... tried a colour wheel too still nothing?! Any ideas?

Help!! i created the adjustment layer and tried to add a color grade to it and it does not work. I can add the color grade directly to the video and that works, but not on the adjustment layer please help.

Strange, I've created the adjustment layer title according to your instructions and it won't work. I adjust colorwheels, and nothing happens. Not sure where I've gone wrong.

I found the culprit - Motion creates the new title preset with background layer disabled (tick-box not checked) - if you save that way the adjustment layer will not work. You have to check the box on Title Background.

Yes you can! Once you've added the keyframes, you can copy and paste the adjustment layer.

Love your tutorials Dylan. Extremely helpful. Have you ever made one giving an overview of your workflow for producing and editing a video? Your tutorials give great explanations of individual steps like colour and sound adjustment, and one (from late 22/early 23?) gave an overview of what FCP can do. I am intrigued to know your project sequence starting with raw footage.

Am I missing something? I simply apply whatever alteration I wish to a clip, press command C, select clips I wish to have same, press command shift V, & they're duplicated. I wondered what Adjustment Layers were esp when you said FCPX doesn't include them. i see the benefit re zoom in the sense you simply move th adjustment layer but I'd simply cut in & Out where I wanted the zoom &, of course, can adjust start & end by simply dragging the cut backwards or forwards as needed.

The adjustment layer save you time. With a layer you don't have to copy and paste, duplicate, cut in and out. They're handy. Play around with Layer Pop for a bit and you'll see.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. The adjustment layer is free. You don't have to buy anything.
