Do you have a video of the order of a rod build? I’m making a shark rod with uni but. And a roller tip. My guess would be guides, tip, grip, uni but?

Everyone has their own process, but I would do foregrip, guides, roller tip top, unibutt.

How big of a gap are you still using the mesh. I did this on my last bit rod. I am working on one now where the rod is .69” and using a #2 .873 ferrule Thinking I might need a more robust spacer (plastic or aluminum)?

@@the_pope_clan2408 - mesh tape will do the trick, but I like to use ferrules that are closer in diameter to the rod but for that reason. Thank you for watching.

@@reelbluecustomrods yeah I know. This was not my plan. But I wanted a smaller diameter rod for a 30-50 class reel. The #1 would have been better. But does not fit a 50w. Thanks for the info.

Great video ❤ I have very old rod made in USA you don’t see them anymore by company called Montague and it’s rated 110-140lb I am trying to rebuild it and will be my first rod wrapped after watching a lot of KZbins my question is how and where I can find one piece fit inside the reel seat like reel butt thanks if you have email I can send you pic

From the looks of this install, I think the only way to remove it is to use a die grinder to cut both sides and split it off. @@reelbluecustomrods

Horacio, it depends on what type of rod you are building, and the overall length you want.

…. You forgot to line up the ferrule groove …. It needs to be oriented to the guides ….

Hey Chris, I did not. The ferrule groove runs horizontal not vertical. Meaning when you install it on the blank the guides are up pointing to the sky and the ferrule groove should be horizontal or level. Thank you for watching and commenting.
