How To Add An Electric Motor To Hobie Outback Kayak - Bixpy & RAILBLAZA

I gotta say, I love the Outback and It is great that you can still pedal because the motor is not in the center drive slot. What is the top speed when running on motor only? I am putting a Watersnake in the center of my compass.

Did not clock top speed but TBH fast is not the point, reduced effort over longer periods is the goal.

How would this go on the GT with a small trolling motor? Bixpy is good but very expensive especially as I need to add the rudder.

@@PaddleGuy1 Thanks Jason, I had a side mount on my previous Hobie Kayak. Side mount works fine provided you have a rudder. I had the Jarvis Walker side mount which was just crap although the motor was good. - Should have got the railblaza mount.

Should be center mounted. Side mounted feels like you are being pushed sideways. Also needs kick up if you hit something.

I get what your saying and have the Bixpy on my rudder for the Viking kayaks where the rudder will kick up, this works just fine on the side and the rudder on the outback is not an option to fit a motor. you cant se the clip on that bracket to be open so it will kick up if your worried but where I use it that's not an issue
