Thanks PT.1+2+3 ~ Comprehensive & certainly up there as one of your best tutorials. Learned so much & finally able to understand Procreate, so that I can now start creating, confidently. If you can, please do more of these tutorials and progressively include additional techniques, perhaps progressing through to animation. Best wishes to all during this pandemic, stay safe & remain inside, if you can. United Kingdom.

So, this is what happened just now. I was searching for a retro-comic-anime hair drawing tutorial and found NOTHING! I spent like 2 hours searching everywhere for something that looks a little bit similar to what I wanted. So when I finally gave up, I just clicked on THIS random video from my feed. And what I saw on the 13th minute of the tutorial... I SAW THE STYLE OF HAIR THAT I WAS SEARCHING FOR!!! But it's not even anime, and it's clearly not a girls hair !!! So... thank you. I do believe in magic now. )))))))

Thank you for these videos. My biggest problem is knowing what color to use for the shading. I know that you should never use black, but I'm never sure what color is best to use with specific flats. Any advice?

Nice tutorial. What brush are you using to do the shadows?
@omg-vert4 жыл бұрын
Around the 15 minute mark where you are using the Freehand selection tool to create the jagged highlights, instead of using the eraser you could also use three finger drag down and select "Cut".
@BeeJayDeL4 жыл бұрын
Yup...you can also click back on the layer and hit clear...using the eraser is easier for people to understand the result though (there is a method to my madness, lol!)

I got your brush pack, I like it. I know you use 4500x5400 size, would you recommend that for a beginner? someone that watch your videos, like to practice and draw. I like your channel those basic videos about faces, noses, etc. Thanks!

I've binge-watched so many of your videos recently!! Love them 🤩 Just a quick question BeeJay, I'm currently using the Surface Pro 3 with Sketchbook Pro but I feel it is missing features, especially when it comes to colouring! I also have Illustrator but it has serious pen pressure issues that is apparently common 😫 is there a program similar to Procreate that you would recommend? Maybe Photoshop?

Thanks so much for these tutorials! I’m really learning a lot 😊 I’m trying to follow along with the coloring techniques from this video but using an inked image I imported into Procreate. Unfortunately, the color dropping doesn’t work as expected. The colors drop but I can’t see them on the artwork they appear in the layer thumbnail but not in the actual art. I’m certain it has to do with the imported (from Clip Studio) artwork, since this works fine on an image I drew in Procreate. Any ideas what I can do to fix it so that imported line art can use the color dropper?
@BeeJayDeL4 жыл бұрын
You can color under the image on a new layer by setting the imported layer to “multiply.”
@TruthBombTom3 жыл бұрын
Hey man, so where you have the "colour flats layer", is that a group of all your colour flats, or have you combined all of your colour flats into one layer? I would have thought if you combined them all together, you'd still have that same issue of shadows overlapping your colours for example, although saying that maybe it is a good thing as it would give a more natural look rather than going in on each colour separately, and of course it isn't going to show up on your line art as it's separate. BTW your brush set is amazing, really has gave me a new lease of passion to get drawing digitally again, thanks for all you do.
@TruthBombTom2 жыл бұрын
It all depends on your drawing bro. For example, I have done a drawing recently where I have kept the gun of a soldier on separate colour flats as I wanted to add blood splatter to it. You have to use a little bit of forward thinking with your digital drawing and also there isn't a strict path with your workflow. Just pinch ideas from videos like this one and create your own. Hit me up for any more help, I am really trying to get into digital art myself.

Hi there Beejay, great video as always. Have you thought about issuing a word a day challenge to keep everyone busy/occupied during this time. Not meaning a video every day, i just mean a word list you could come up with like Inktober and post it on the Facebook page. Might be a good exercise and build more followers etc.

Hi, I have seen lot of your drawing videos and I have a request if you could teach to draw a few detailed scenes/backgrounds...I have seen the one with lion character...but I need something more detailed..I am not good with perspective (near and far drawing) completing the whole scene. It would be a great help if you could draw one scenery with forest theme and one of street with a house or two....It does have to be exactly these...I just need to learn how people draw a scene which looks like going from near to very far in a small space.
