I have retropie 4.8 installed and emulation station has NES, N64, and SNES which the games work great. But my problem is that I have PSP games isos downloaded and transferred to the psp roms folder within my retropie folder. They do not show up on the emulation station nor does the psp emulator show up on emulation station like it is not installed but it is installed and does not show up. Do i just need the iso file or should and do I need to convert the ISO to CSO

Amazing video, but how do I make these additional emulators selectable from the arcade menu. I want to have all the roms in one location (I.E. dreamcast/ Atomiswave all in Arcade and use lr-flycast or redeem from the arcade) others show how to do it but I believe they are using a pc and not a retropie 4

Are you referring to the list when you open a game up and open up the settings options with the A button as the rom is loading in?

@@OfficialChaseBrogan No I was referring, after the reboot, I was expecting to see a list of the emulator, then you click on it and then you see the games for that emulators, I found out a way, from your windows machine \ etropie and add the games to the emulator folders then reboot the emulation state on the raspberry pi and there they are

I'm new to RetroPie and eager to get all my ROMs up and running smoothly. However, I've hit a snag where ROMs for NES, SNES, and Sega Mega Drive aren't showing up or launching properly. What's the best way to turn off the Raspberry Pi 4 after you're done playing it? Should I shut it down through the emulator/RetroPie internally or just flip the power switch on the power cord adapter manually?

Is there a way to put an emulator package on a usb and then plug your usb in and install it off the usb flash drive. I know you can put games on a usb flash drive and it will transfer it over to your retropie card. so I was wondering if something like that could be done for emulator packages

@@OfficialChaseBrogan Well, I added the bezel project to a existing build of retropie and it had bezels for the handheld games already. After I added the bezel project and installed mame bezels and restarted the pie the bezels where not showing

so I bought a prebuilt/confifgured retropie console but have been messing around with customizing it and basically messing around with the library. I was wondering if i wanted to add an emulator to it would I need to have it connected to my network? i noticed my device has an ethernet port so could I just plug it into my router and follow the instructions in this video? also the guy installed retroarch 2.2 I believe? can I update that easily without wiping the sd card?

Yes, you need internet. You can also connect it from the Wi-Fi in RetroPie’s configuration page. Make sure to set your time zones, keyboard settings (if you use a keyboard) and LAN country ( the country you are in) in Raspi-Config>Localization settings before you connect WiFi or it will not work. You also can update it in Retropie-setup.

Did this on my Retropie v4 and I can get the games to load but the controls don't work. Even the keyboard controls have problems, if I hit Tab it brings up the menu but none of the arrow keys work so I can't configure anything. Anyone know how to fix this?

So, I'm very new to this whole Raspberry Pi & RetroPie thing. I am not very knowledgeable about it at all. Recently, I purchased the LABISTS Raspberry Pi 4 4GB Complete Starter PRO Kit with 32GB Micro SD Card (4GB RAM). I was finally able to get it set up and I was able to play a few games on it last night (5/26/21). The main reason why I decided to go with a Raspberry Pi was because I'm a child of the 80s and 90s. I wanted to have a system that let me play retro video games such as arcade games and console games (Genesis & SNES) from that time period. The problem I've run into now is that some of the roms work fine and others don't. I can't figure out why this is happening. I have heard that arcade roms use MAME, etc . . . Some of the arcade and 16-bit console roms are working, but other ones are not. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix this latest issue that I'm facing? Thanks.

Hey there hard to say without going into your system and looking at how it’s been setup. Some cards have good Roms and some dont. It could be that some Roms just don’t work and you aren’t doing anything wrong. Other may need to have the emulator changed out but usually mame is pretty straight forward for arcade games. Are there a lot of games that don’t work or just a handful? If it’s an older card it’s not uncommon for there to be issues all over the mame/arcade collection. A lot has changed in the last year or so and a lot more games are working on newer builds so if it is I fact older that could be part of the problem. Which titles are you having trouble with? I could let you know if those are titles are are known to have Issues or not.

@@OfficialChaseBrogan Hi. So, I downloaded a bunch of roms from the internet (like everybody else). Some seem to work and others don't. For example: arcade roms for WWF Superstars, Rolling Thunder, and NARC aren't working. Some Genesis roms aren't working either.

@@trackmastersdj Got it. It's likely just bad roms. That's the only downside to roms online. Some work and some dont. If you aren't getting anything working right in one collection then there is likely an emulator or bios file issue but if it's just a rom here and there then it's likely an issue with the specific rom. I'd try to download a couple of the same game from various places and test them out. One is bound to work.

In terms of games? You could do multiple cards then just swap them out with your raspberry pi if you wanted to go that route. I actually switch back and forth between two cards all the time on my Pi 4.

@@metroduck you have to switch them out. You could look into doing a usb drive build then you would have one micro sd card and then a usb drive as well. I've never done this but I do know it's possible.

What does "over-clocking" Raspberry Pi 4 mean? 🤔

A simple explanation is over clocking is when you set the game's speed beyond it's normal 100% range. Basically, think of over clocking as over the limit if you will. A bit of a double edge sword in that yes you can get more speed but it can also risk game issues : crashes, graphical glitches etc. I hope that explanation helps.

@@trackmastersdj it's usually a feature in options. I believe the only two reasons why you would need to do it. #1. If the game is having any lagging or speed related issues you might do it to help with that issue. #2. Speed running games where you want to make sure your game is going as fast as possible to avoid any potential slow downs.

@@angelmorales8874 yeah you can’t have various different raspberry pi computer boards and also a wide range of different versions of the retropie software. They’re all similar but there’s always updates coming out so you could have different updates.
