How to add notifications to Google Calendar events

In this video we are going to set up new notifications on Google Calendar. The notifications will affect all the events on the calendar. We will review 3 types: event notifications, all-day event notifications and other notifications.

Thanks for the video.. do you know if its possible to have a notification with like an alarm? Instead of only having the pop .. this pop up especially when iphone is on silent mode, its not enough.. thank u so much!

You have to make the changes on the iPhone settings. Not sure if you will be able to change the sound notification of an app that is not developed by Apple, but you can try. Here's a video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rnecna15hcuHjpo

If the phone is on silent mode, normally the notifications won't make any sounds. It seems you have the calendar app set up as "priority", so even if your phone is on silent mode, you still hear the notification sounds. Please check out this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3-ZZaJtaZmfaNU

You can only add notifications to calendars you manage (like the default calendar that is there when you create a google account). If you are subscribed to a calendar, you can't add notifications. Yes, you can set up events notifications directly on the event. Just create a new event and then click on the calendar name and the notification options will show. Thanks for subscribing! I'm not super familiar with iOS but I just checked and it looks like there's no way to change the notification sound of an app. You can change the general sound but it will apply to all your app notifications.

Hi. Google Calendar doesn't have this feature. You can use a third party app like Zapier where you can connect the calendar and set up a workflow. When a new event is created, send an email. There's also another app called IFTTT that can probably do the same.

Its not showing a notification on my phone.I have notifications turned on and everything.My events have set notification times as well.

You will have to watch a tutorial on how to edit notifications on individual apps from the phone settings. You can turn on/off all notifications, as well as change the notifications from the app. But in recent updates they added a 3rd level of control, where you can turn on/off notification of an individual app from the phone settings. When you open the app, notifications are "on", but the phone doesn't allow the app to display the notifications on your screen. You have to change that setting.

There are no "settings and sharing" options alongside my calendars, only colour options and "display this only".

Are you the calendar owner? Or is this a "public" calendar? If it's a public calendar, then you can't add notifications, unless it's a "company public" calendar that was shared with you.

It depends on what browser and what operating system you use. You have to enable desktop notification on the browser (ie: Google Chrome), and on the operating system settings. There are other videos in KZbin that show how to do it.
