Super new to PS. At around 4 minute mark you have a new layer where you paint the lines. When you start changing opacity it's gone. I'm lost

Hi Brendan, Thank you so much for this tutorial. At 3:45min once I created the new mask, I press CTRL + I but it doesn't give me the same tool as you. I don't have the possibility to paint. It's a tool to drag (sort of a line). I use the last edition of Photoshop. I realize that a new layered appear in the video at this point and then disapear once again at 4:11, I'm not sure what to do with this layer. Thank you very much.

This is similar to my technique. I did not find that your use of fog on this image very helpful. It can be very cool. I photograph real fog often and I think about what makes those images so cool. Fog removes the deep blacks, it softens & it's uneven. The closer things are, the less fog you are shooting through, so it fogs out the background or an area in a unique way.
