I’ve been doing it the hard way. I use my own photo for the Lock Screen and use the photos edit feature to add text. In addition to my name I also include the phone number of the phone. Text can be placed anywhere on the screen. This technique can be used with nearly any cell phone, including flip phones.

hi warren from Australia I worked out how to put my focus with my name but I don't understand why it gives you an option to pick a colour. Because when you pick a colour it doesn't come out in colour you pick red but your name was white. I've had the same problem.

Thanks, Daniel ! I generally do not use focus at all so the Focus Method works for me. The Widget method is more visible and probably most preferable for those that like the Focus mode to let their iPhones control their lives. (Not me … I’m retired. I now have time to do things when and if I so choose🤣) The Any Text Widget opens up other useful ideas!

If you rename your phone with your name and add the the battery percentage widget to your Home Screen, it will also display your name and won’t need another app. I like the focus trick too; I’ma use that.

Thank you for this video, I always wanted to put my name on the Lock Screen, I encountered an issue, I will be able to put my name using focus method without any issues, but, when I try to use the any text widget method, I will be able to do it and select the widget with my name but when I press done in the very corner of the Lock Screen the widget with my name disappears, I thought using a different wallpaper will fix the issue but, it doesn't work, do you think is because I'm on iOS 18 b2? You can change the icon, but not delete it as one must be selected. The default is the 😀 icon; Daniel just changed it to the 🔥 icon, not added. I agree it would be nice if there was an option to have it blank, but it is a nice feature to have my name on the Lock Screen to help someone find me if I left my phone somewhere.

Interesting. Adding name to iPhone makes name available to appear on iPad as well. You could add a different focus for your iPad(s) or have it the same on all. Apparently the focus is attached to your AppleID. I like this because I do not use code or FaceID so when someone picks up my phone, they can see whose it is. If I decide to use FaceID, it will still work. Thanks!

That’s because your watch is mirroring your phone and will change profile when your watch changes. You’ll have to go watch settings and change that if you don’t want that.

Thanks. Or you can just add your name and email (and any message like "please contact") to your wallpaper without having to fiddle with anything. I've been doing this for years. And without the risk of forgetting to activate an unnecessary focus mode, etc. Better method in my opinion ;)
