I don’t know why folks can’t just listen and learn. Why do they want to argue and come up with a rare exception, rather than accepting the rule. Keep going BD. You are more patient than I am.

I wish more people would listen to your advice. I have seen prospects disrespected and also see prodpects disrespect others. Respect is a 2 way street no matter who you are. You get what you give! Do into others as you would have done unto you.

Dear sir im not part of any club and live in the UK but manners always gos a long way the last time I bumped was at a gas station whilst out riding I said morning fellers and they said the same back as I said manners help you with life, as a old friend of my grandfather said to me when I was 10 years old it doesn't matter how big you are its manners that make you a man .

I have been a biker since the 60's but never a clubber. Even very young, I would never let anybody tell me when, where or how to ride a bike. I do have club friends, I ride with now and then. Some will say tighten the line. I say go ahead, I want the back of the line. Back in 69, 5 of us went down riding tight. I said never again. And when the drinking starts Im gone period. Motorcycles and alcohol don't mix. That was the problem in 69.

I have been riding for 50 plus years and I have been at bike drags and other events from coast to coast where there were 1% biker members and I have never had a bad meeting with any. I have even gotten familiar with a few that when they saw me some where come right up and shake hands and greet me. I've never rode with any of them or wanted to become a hang around. I ride a Gold Wing and have no tattoo's or piercings. I have sat and drank a beer or two with some of them and talk about bikes and related topics. I never tried to act like I was a bad ass or had a chip on my shoulder and I was never disrespected felt I was in danger. Some of the different club's did not like each other and that's their business I was glad none of them had a problem with me.

Great information all I would add is to always introduce yourself first to a 1%er. Name and who you are.

Even if talking to probies in own club, can just address them by their first name. I find that this is more respectful.

When I was in Colorado I actually befriended an older member of the dominant 1%er club and one day he was wearing his cutt and normally when we greated each other we did so with hugs because our relationship was like a father and son relationship but due to him wearing his club colors I decided to play it safe and shake his hand and he actually pulled me up a seat close to him and said blood doesn't make a family loyalty does and we had a heart to heart conversation where he actually introduced me to the club as his adopted son and they all got up from their chairs and welcomed me to the family with hugs however he noticed that I wouldn't hug them back and he asked me why I refused to do that I told him that I was taught to respect an McS cutts and then he explained once I'm introduced as family then I have his and the clubs permission to hug them when they are wearing their colors

In my neck of the woods,we call a propsect for a dominant by whatever name we get from them upon introduction. The only people who get called "prospect" are our prospects....good topic

Hey Shipmate, what did you do in the Navy? What was your rate? Where were you stationed? I enlisted Nov 76 and after AD-A School, I was stationed at Cecil Field, Jacksonville, Fla. My first squadron was VA-174. John McCain was my first Skipper. After a few years, I transferred to my fleet squadron, VA-12 until I was discharged in June 83. I was an Aviation Machinist Mate on the A-7E, Corsair II. We were attached to CVN-69, Dwight D. Eisenhower. It was a great time.

That's why I'm not into clubs, too many rules. I don't like reading pages of rules and bylaws, so I just stay out of that and ride my bike, for fun. I have nothing against being polite and respectful. I can't be bothered with ceremony though.

I have been privileged to prospect with a recovery club. They were very safe riders. I withdrew before being patched in. I was disrespected more by my own riders. I am currently in a riding club. I like it but they don't ride as much as the MC did. A prospect is a prospect and that is that. Throw alcohol or drugs into anything and you get an insane brain.

Great education BD....... Question for you. Would you prospect for a 1%er club at under 50 yrs of age?
@BlackDragonNationalPresident4 жыл бұрын
Yes, if after hanging around the brotherhood I found that those brothers appealed to me, and they wanted me to probate for them, I would absolutely even if I was 60.
