This video is a HUGE help as I have bought new thicker riding boots & had mis-shifted a few times in the beginning. I'd been planning on making this adjustment. Thanks a lot Bryan!

Very handy video. I installed a set of Helibars that changed my riding postion and needed to raise the shifter.

Another great helpful video so many thanks, new boots meant I had to make an adjustment and I was going to take the big plate off until I watched the video, I never even knew those two markers were there and now I know adjustment takes 2 mins

I've been riding a metric bagger (Kawi Nomad) with a heel shift for last six years, and when I got the FJR about a week ago, was having trouble with missed shifts and difficult downshifts. I'm going to raise the shift actuator and am hoping this adjustments cures the problem.

Thank you so much. It's clear now. How did you know the top nut is right hand thread and the bottom nut is left hand thread? I was looking in the service manual and it didn't say. Thanks again!

Mike Lang Well, you know they are going to be opposite otherwise you wouldn't' be able to turn the linkage and have it move. In person you just look at the threads to see the direction.

TwoWheelObsession thank you sir! I knew one is right hand one is left hand. I just didn't know which is which. Thanks for the tip (looking at thread) but only if it's visible like this.

Obviously something has come loose or broken, if anything changed. Take a look.

What if the shaft does not rotate? My bolts are loose - tried vice grips and still couldn't get it to move at all. Kz1000

Sorry I have no idea what your linkage is like.

Just got it figured out. It is the same as yours. Just had put it in a WD-40 soak for a while. Thanks
