This is the best and most precise video I’ve seen about adjusting the drain. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.

Although I knew how to do this fix you did an excellent job slowly explaining and demonstrating how the repair is done. I’ll be watching for more.👍

@@How2Plumb this is a really great video, but I have a question that didn't get answered in this, because I think my tub has an issue with it. When I say that, I mean I think perhaps the part that goes in is antiquated. It's plastic, and it's quite tight upon putting it in or removing it. I have this video, so I thought I'd show it to you. I appreciate any input you might have. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmOQc6uNh9tlZrc

Thanks very much for the video! My bathroom contractor completely neglected to finish this (among many other things I will not get into... Let's just say I'm not DIYing by choice). Appreciate you saving me the extra cash!

Perfect timing - I need to get a new replacement for the one that hasn't been there for a long time. Yet another project to add to my list. Thank you!

8:40 this is why we don't put all of the screws in until we're done testing in the electronics world, lol.

I am trying to fix this on a jacuzzi tub. The lever won’t really move up or down. It was functioning fine prior to someone unscrewing it to work on a different issue and I discovered it off and when I tried to screw the cover back on the lever doesn’t function. What should I try to get it working? Lubricate it? Thank you for your helpful video!

I have a question.. was at a job today where I had to replace two trip levers that weren't working anymore. They both had different plungers at the end. They were large Springs instead of the solid cylinder type. I tried to replace those old spring types with the full plunger type but no matter how I set it or adjusted it I couldn't get the plunger to go up and down when I out the two screws in. I adjusted it about 6 or 7 times to no avail. Please help me. I like to consider myself a good plumber but I have not seen these yet.

How do you know how long to make the rod?
@clownpocket2 жыл бұрын
my lever won't stay in the down position. The brass plug is too heavy and the spring in the lever is not strong enough, so the plug falls down preventing the tub from draining.

Is this not possible with a solvent weld drain kit or is their a larger plunger i can Buy

I have completed the process but have left water in the bathtub with the lever up to see if it stays. I am finding that it's slowly leaks out after over 20 maybe 30 minutes. Will it actually plug the drain 100%? I mean will it actually hold the water until I push the lever down since the pipe or bell shaped is not exactly the same size as the pipe?
@How2Plumb2 жыл бұрын
No it never holds 100% for that long of a time. It’s a brass on brass connection for the seal, not a perfect design.

My drain plug will not come out at all!!! Help…

I'm surprised they still make these. Pieces in the linkage can become brittle. If you have hard water, it can calcify in the brass and make it hard to move up and down. Twist and turn overflows are so much better and easier to use.

I watched this before taking apart my tub drain to try to fix a clog only to find out that the clog is most likely being caused by the drain stopper which is completely disconnected from the switch 😩
