HOW TO ADJUST CAR WINDOW SEALS / MR2 SPYDER GETS TINTED WINDOWS

Today I show you how to adjust the window seals on the Toyota Mr2 Spyder hardtop and finally get my windows tinted.

you can also take the interior door panel off and move the window stop a few mm down. there are two, front and back. four screws to take off the door panel. 5 minute job.

hi actually what you can do is open up the door panel. There is a stopper that determines how high the window can go up to. so if you make it stop just a little before then you should solve your issue here.

I know this video is old, but for others, remove the door panel and there is 2 adjustable bolts to adjust the windows up and down.

Great vid man I got my MR2 in the summer and the soft top door seals are a bit firm (17 years old) you need some 303 aerospace protectant spray a bit on a rag and rub it on every time you wash the car ,,,, seals are very soft almost like new

There should be a travel limiter for the windows towards the front and back of the door, you'll have to remove the door panel in order to access it. I found a post on Spyder Chat mentioning such, but that was all there was to it. I found a picture of a MR2 Spyder with the door panel off and I think I see them, so I circled them in red as to what looks like the travel limiters to me. Maybe some of the 303 aerospace protectant spray could help like Vaughan suggested above.

Hey man just a suggestion, on my hardtop the seal that seals up the rear portion of the top to the car was extremely flattened due to the age, never leaked but definitely flatter than new, I work on trucks for a living doing camper shells and other accessories and our hardtops use a similar double bulb rubber seal to a leer camper shell, I always thought about changing it out for a new seal but can't justify doing so if there isn't anything wrong with the one currently on the top, maybe by changing that lower seal it would raise the rear portion of the top back up to factory specs, I dunno just a thought, nice Spyder btw check me out on IG sueno2jz
