Of all the crazy videos explaining how to do this, you made what I thought was going to be a major task so simple. I went out immediately after watching this video and had the gap adjusted in minutes. I hope that this will bring my brake pedal up because prior to doing this my pedal almost went top the floor. I will follow up with a rear brake bleed and hope for the best.

Did you drain the calipers before you adjusted them?

@@junior9334 No just did it just as shown using the vice grips. didn't even have to open the bleed screws it is just done using the brakes built in self adjusting feature.

Did you remove the parking brake or did you just remove the tire and start to adjust the caliper?

@@toraparks7046 I removed the cable and then used the vice grips on the lever. Watch the gap close as you "flick" it and get both sides as close to equal as you can.

@@pattayperformance Mine are Baer brand and by simply applying the e-brake on a regular basis adjusts the caliper.

I just adjusted my calipers after they were installed and bled. Just use the vice grips and do exactally as shown in this video. I even had my cables installed, but I made a little mistake when I installed them- my handle was set on the first detent- so there's about 1/4" of slack in them. I don't know if they would adjust with the cables at proper tension but I bet it would work just fine. The cables go 'slack' when you push the lever forward and just come tight once the lever hits the stop.

How come when I release the vice grips the piston goes right back in I can’t get an adjustment

Can you still adjust the rear caliper even if you have try bleeding

you can make the adjustment with fluid in the calipers.
