I wasn't able to pop my lenses out so I just covered the lenses with a small microfiber cloth when I was heating up the eyeglass frames. I used the hair dryer on the lowest setting for 10 seconds for each part of the frame I wanted to adjust, and it worked perfectly. He didn't mention it but you can also loosen your eyeglass temples with his methods.

As an optician, I do not recommend doing any of this. Especially popping out the lenses. Trust me an actual lens with a script in especially a strong script DO NOT pop out that simple. Thick frames, strong scripts, yeah they don't go in or out like that. And that is not how you check to see if they are level. So please, please leave the adjusting to a professional. We would rather do it right than have to correct mistakes. Plus, the more you heat your frame the more of a risk for breaking it.

I have same issues with mine, it kept slipping off my nose also. Due to the virus that's been going around I dont wanna go in to any places at this time. I might have to try bending the curve part to hook onto my ear more so it won't slip off my nose. Hope it works. 👍
@naomi79844 жыл бұрын
It works! Yay! My glasses kept sliding down my nose and now they stay put! I skipped removing the lens (only adjusted the bend at the temple) and I pointed the blow dryer at the frame for about 20 seconds (I have a low power hair dryer). Thanks!
@papl204 жыл бұрын
I was about to ask that because I do not want to risk damaging the lens. Nothing happened to yours?
@naomi79844 жыл бұрын
@@papl20 Nope, nothing. I assumed that as long as I'm just adjusting the bend of the temples, there's no point in removing the lenses. But if I do fix the other parts he talked about, I'll definitely remove them, I don't want to risk distorting them or overheating them and whatnot.

Recently I experienced pinching behind my right ear caused by my new eyeglasses frames. I returned to where I bought them, they made a slight adjustment, but the problem wasn’t solved. So I searched on KZbin and found this tutorial. I filled a bowl with kettle boiled water. I dipped the eyeglass arm (10 - 15 seconds at a time) into the hot water. I carefully made adjustments. Now FINALLY my eyeglasses are comfortable. No more annoying pinch. thank you very much! 😃 👍

How strong is your script? Saw another comment that said don’t do it with a strong prescription and my sons is really strong but the back of his frames need bent so they stay behind his ears. I don’t want to pop the lenses out if they don’t go back in right!

I love that you're using the exact same frames that I'm trying to fix (generic visionworks), but for whatever reason, I can't seem to fix the over extended arm. I fell asleep on them with one of the arms open, so they were bent under pressure for hours 🤦♀️ I've used both a hairdryer & hot water, & was able to fix most of the bend, but the last little bit just won't go 😭

Ty! While I got my frames locally we have been in there several times for adjustments and sometimes you can't tell if it's going to be too tight or too loose until you were them for a little while. With all 4 of us getting 2 new pairs we have been in there a lot -_- I just had them adjust mine last night and I kept telling him they were crooked and didn't feel right. I thought he was getting frustrated with me so I said forget it and told myself I'd have someone else adjust them when I went back to get my 2nd pair that they had to reorder. ANYWAYS it was making me so annoyed to have them sit crooked on my face and with this video I fixed it in 30 seconds. Wish I had seen this before when my daughter's were too loose and kept needing adjusted.

2:44 "From there you just use some force, and the lenses will snap back in" - It was terribly hard to push the lenses back in when I first tried. The trick was to push evenly from all sides and not try to push in one side first. If working just on the temples one can wrap the lenses with a cloth maybe to protect them from heat. Other than this the video was very helpful - thanks.

@@zinwaiyan6474 If you push in one side then try to push in the other side then it's hard. The trick is to push all sides evenly and it should be alright. Also if the lens and frame opening are not perfectly matched it's hard. I guess applying heat to the frame would help too like you did.

Thankfully I had the opportunity to watch the professionals at visionworks struggle for 2 HOURS trying to pop the lenses back in (the frame color was wrong so they gave me the frames off the display & had to switch the lenses). I had to come back the next day so someone else could do it 😆 Needless to say, I will never ever be popping the lenses out of my glasses! At least not on purpose lol. have the exact same frames as the video, but my lenses are -8.00 & only medium-slim, so the lenses are THICK, between 1/4th & 1/2 an inch 😅

I have one question how about when the frames are on the side of your face and are to tight and leaves a mark???
@jazzman21693 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure there's a fix for that. Sounds like the frames may be too narrow. If you have an older pair that aren't like that, check the width and that may be your width requirement. I just learned last year about frame width and arm length when buying glasses and now make sure I look at nothing with a short arm length.
