How to adjust temperature limit on Grohe Pressure Balance Vavle(I)

Thanks for the video. Had a question, is the 0 setting (neutral) hotter than 10? What’s the difference?

I was able to adjust my temperature setting using this procedure. I had previously replaced the pressure balance cartridge and had installed the lever upside down. However, I noticed that there is a leak at the stem when I turn on the water. My valve is Grohe 35210, but I believe that it is similar to 35015 shown in your video. There appears to be an internal nylon bushing and o-ring that the stem of the pressure balance cartridge threads through, on the inside of the brass cover plate. Do you think this o-ring is the cause of the leak? How can I fix this? Someone who posted a review on Amazon for the Grohe pressure balance cartridge said that the nylon bushing could be tapped out from the brass cover, to access the o-ring, but there is a risk of damage to the nylon bushing. Are you familiar with this issue? Do you have any idea on how I can fix this leak at the stem? I can post photos or videos, if needed. Thanks.

If you have 35210, it must be very old vavle. The cartridge could be 47080000. Yes, there is o-ring and white bushing , which you cannot see them in the new valve. I will suggest to replace the entire cover which has the o-ring and bushing builtin. The part number is 47343550, and you should be able to find it on Amazon.-Danny Lai

@@dannylyl I replaced the brass cover holding the pressure balance cartridge. The brass cover was included in the Grohe 47343550 kit you mentioned. Everything works fine now and there's no leak. Interestingly, I observed that there is a difference in the original pressure balance cartridge that came inside the Grohe 35210 valve (in 1998) and the new Grohe 47080000 pressure balance cartridge that I installed recently. The original cartridge had a groove at the base of the stem that protrudes out from the brass cover. This groove accommodates an external o-ring that helps seal the brass cover opening where the pressure balance cartridge's stem comes out. On the new pressure balance cartridge from Grohe, there is no groove on the stem, and there is no way to fit an external o-ring to the stem on the outside of the brass cover, to seal it. So it seems like maybe a new brass cover is required whenever you change the pressure balance cartridge--if you have an old pressure balance cartridge that relies on the external o-ring to seal the stem opening. The brass cover kit Grohe 47343550 did not even come with an external o-ring and I see that your diagram in this video does not show an external o-ring on the pressure balance cartridge stem--outside of the brass cover. @@yusuihang Yes, you were right. Becasue the new cover has integrated the black o-ring and white bushing, there is no need to put an extra o-ring on the cartridge. In short, you do NOT need the black o-ring on the new 47080000 cartirdge.
