Man I thought my plumbers installed the thing incorrectly. For 5 years I thought I couldn't run cold water with this damned thing at all until I finally came across this clip. A great big thank you sir from me and my whole family!

Thanks for making the video. May I ask how did you get the cap off as the first step? The gaps are so small. Thanks

I used a very small flat head screwdriver the ones that are to repair glasses but you could also probably use a tip of a very pointy knife
@mavm2672 жыл бұрын
Really appreciate this. How do you remove the trim plate without causing any damage? I would like to know for future reference. Thank you.
@Dougie00492 жыл бұрын
I used a small flat head screwdriver to insert in the seam of the trim to pry it up. Another thing that might work well will be a very pointy knife and just pride on its side of the seam. Hope this helps and thank you for watching.

Just watched this, my problem is that the button to move beyond 38c is not working at 12 o'clock, it's more that 7 o'clock. I can't move the dial housing around as it seems to be glued. Can anyone help fix this?

Does this have volume control? can you control the amount of water from a trickle up to full flow? Or is the volume on/off only?
@Dougie00493 жыл бұрын
Yes it does, all three valve could be adjusted, if you want a little bit of water or a lot of water, you can even turn all three on at the same time
@seadawg47404 ай бұрын
The volume control is on the outsde of the individual on/off buttons.

Sometimes I just need a trickle of water but the lowest setting (turned all the way counter clockwise) is too much still. Can I adjust the water volume knobs in the same manner?

I installed the same smartcontrol box from Grohe. I am facing an issue when closing the valves. When switching the water off with the push buttons, I hear a hammering sound. The sound is similar as what I hear in this video but I don’t hear it on other test video’s. This does not sound right to me. Do other users experience similar behaviors? Thanks for sharing your experience. Appreciate!
@Dougie004911 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing your concerns I also do wonder about that sound if anybody out there knows please let us know.
@tompecoraro73825 ай бұрын
You need to measure your water pressure. If its too high over 80 psi you should install a pressure reducer valve or additionally could install some hammer arrestors on your water lines close to shower as possible

My problem is the cap does not stay on when turning the knob-without me placing my finger on it. Any advice?
@Dougie00494 ай бұрын
@@seadawg4740 make sure that the cap has no broken clips in the back, if it does, you may need to replace it. Another thing you may want to try is turn the cap some to ensure it clicks on

@Dougie00492 жыл бұрын
It’s been a while since I’ve taken it apart but just make sure that it’s not upside down, they might be a spring on the outside portion see if that’s in the way hope that helps thank you for watching
