The fuel tap will have markings of the tip it self, when its turned towards left, its off, if upright then on, and if towards left then reserve.

Edit:@ 0:39, the tilting of scooter while starting after a longer period has to do with fuel cut off due to positioning of the petrol tank with reference to the carburetor. It has little correlation with your carb's setting or jet cleaning. **apologies**

If you are talking about idle screw, then yes I did tighten that.

Build it Ride it, so to confirm, the idle screw on the top you tighten fully in (so it stops turning) and the the mixture/air screw at the back is roughly 1 turn out to start the process? Yes?

Please do it gently. Do NOT tighten the idle or mixture screw in too tight (just until you feel it stop). Unfortunately I have seen so many mixture and idle screws driven in their seats and ruined by over tightening. (61 years as a Vespa mechanic).

@@robertdillahayii4763 it’s used for tick-over idle adjustment. You can slow or increase the tick over speed with a screw driver.

It looks like the outside of your carb is really oily and dirty. Subsequently, there's probably crud in your jets, too.

simple way is just tighten mixture screw totally and then loosen anti clockwise 1 and half turns
