You are by far the best person to show this type of repair . Can I have that new engine you have there lol 😅. My Honda has 359,000 miles . It’s an 01 . The dreadful p1399 says this could be the issue now that I went through the whole top part of the car . Fingers crossed

My wife MDX was actually reverse of what you stated. The exhausts were tight and intakes were loose. I adjusted the intakes to .008 and exhaust to .012. Runs good.

Great job. Clear as day. So much easier to learn with the engine out of the car. Thank you

Just in case no one has said it, that pin on top of the rod is likely called "Hammer". Also, "valve adjuster".

Its amazing what a proper procedure and space can do for you. Much faster and easier to do the valve adjustment on my 04 TL with the engine out than an Odyssey.

Oh for sure! Engine out makes it a world of difference. With that said, our tips about angled feelers, setting mechanical timing with the idler pulley, etc etc make "In car" adjustments that much easier. I recall the first time I did it with straight angled feelers, tried releasing the Tensioner with the pin....let's just say the lash and timing had to be redone 3 times. Of course that was 15 years ago, but non the less just showing you guys what we've learned along the way and over the past 1.5 decades working with these engines

@HalferLandPerformance It's all great stuff. I've only got to work on a handful of these J series, but I love em so much we have 2 TLs at my house. Keep up the great work.

@@HalferLandPerformanceHey man, love the video, I was about to do this to my 180k mile 04 accord because it’s started making a ticking noise, was just wondering what preventative maintenance you would recommend while i’m doing this. I figured I could replace valve cover gaskets but unsure what else I could do if anything. Thanks

I have a unrelated question😅 . I’ve been searching everywhere to get rv6 pcds but no luck could you maybe shed some light on where I can get them . I’ve read up on some forums and from what I read the high flow precats won’t work with a supercharger could I go a different route or should I stay all motor and run the high flow precats ?

Miss my tlx I got in a accident :( but I got a stinger now
@HalferLandPerformance Жыл бұрын
Stingers are actually pretty cool, especially the Turbo 3.0s (believe their 3.0 liters). My buddy worked for Kia and I drove one, not bad power. A tune and simply turning up the boost pressure can lead to interesting things 😅😅
