This was super helpful! Trying to get into sixes more now and my spy experience is basically having me over-extend way too much, I'm sort of getting the hang of mid-range and placing myself optimally as scout but it's definitely a learning process.

Jewlander - Glad you liked it! Totally agree, it takes a lot of practice to know when to engage but keep your 1:1 matchups in mind and use your past experiences to help you figure out how to handle each matchup by exploiting your opposing class' weaknesses.

I noticed that I do something similar to Jewlander. I'm en ex Spy main so being overly aggressive is an issue I tend to have. I have played a lot of flank scout too which makes my flanking and just wanting to be balls deep in their team understandable but running around and being a dick isn't very useful most of the time. I do prefer playing Pocket Scout anyway, as it teaches me to be more passive and more involved in the game. Having the heals also make up for my lack of DM as Scout lol :)

Any good tips on how to aim the pistol? I always overshoot and undershoot, only hitting 1 or 2 shots out of the whole clip, and the wide ass spread doesnt help

Watch the developer commentaries (accessible from the main TF2 menu). The default character models and weapon models are textures and shaded in a way that leads the eye to the mid-line (the "bellybutton" or waist), because that is where the most damage lies in TF2 (outside of the Sniper and Ambassador Spies doing headshots). I saw a video years ago, can't remember by whom, who tested it out with various weapons, and aiming at the body center actually did give a few more damage points than aiming at the chest, legs or heads, even with single-shot hitscan weapons that have no spread. Not very many points, but still.

I don’t know if the game has changed since I played but. I am now a pretty experienced scout. My strategy for heavy is to get point blank range. Then they can’t hit me because I try to jumP over their head around them and in 3 clean shots they are dead

It’s still hard for me to aim air shots at solid the same way I see KZbinrs do it. Small tilt to look up, then A or D to get cursor underneath, the mouse goes straight up and finds the shot. This is more accurate than the diagonal swipes I take I assume?

man seeing this makes me so sad to see the tf2 competitve matchmaking dead... everything is so split now with several websites, leagues, discords, even mumble servers exists... wish there was someone that could just bring everyone together like idk? maybe valve fixing their matchmaking, Adding rewards, giving any type of sign that they even care about the game. because it looks like so much fun being able to play in a little bit more serious setting than people spamming random senseless comments in pub voice chat

You should make your informative videos post commentary/ self demo reviews so you can be more articulate with what you're saying. Also i wouldnt recommend using valve comp to show players decision making in competitive. you should use either pugs or scrims. watch b4nny's live videos where he narrates his decision making, those videos are really helpful, but the only reason he can be so articulate while playing is because he is just so comfortable in the game. I think it would really help the videos for you to go post commentary

I know your probably not going to respond to this but how do I win a match of payload. It might seem stupid at first, but I always always always lose on payload because our defense isn’t strong enough or the enemy team just all gathers at the payload and sends their Soldiers to flank and get our sentry (if we even have one) and camp our team while they push the cart easily and win the game. EVERY TIME. I don’t think I have ever won a match of payload in my entire life. Plz help I’m so baaaaad.

That was the actual pazer. Pazer is a guy who made anti bot scripts, the bots soon became aware and started imperssonating him. This is the same sitiation as raspy, he made a guide on kicking bots, now he is targetted and imperssonated by bots.

Nice video, but I think you should make a seperate tutorial where you talk about things in greater detail. This video was informative, but I was thrown off sometimes by your team comunication. Also one question: Can't enemies hear your voice chat? I mean, you and your team were talking about pushing, and ubers. And enemies can also hear that, right?
